So my ex-husband got married over the past weekend. Somewhat unexpected news, at least from my perspective. But I'm totally fiiiiiiine with it.

Oh, and Happy Ollie Day

But I don't think he really took himself out. Credit the speed of the Texas defense. They keyed on him and didn't let him get outside (much). The touchdown run was still incredible. And the focus on Bush, in part, allowed LenDale to have the game he had (White, too, will be a great pro).
2. Other than the should-have-been-picks, I don't think we watched the same game. Leinert was sacked at least twice, hurried (and hit) repeatedly, and flushed out of the pocket regularly. I didn't think it was a very good game for USC's o-line. Leinert was great in the second half. Throwing strikes. He'll be a good, maybe great, pro qb.
3. Your insane. Young was awesome last night, no question. But there are still question marks as to his ability to throw at the pro level. I bet he comes back to Texas next year to get his Heisman and show the pro scouts another year of solid passing.
Great game. I still think USC is the better team, and probably wins 6-7 out of 10. But damn, Young was good last night.
|
Big props to UT. They played great on both sides, and won the two big 4th down plays in the 4th quarter. I couldn't believe USC didn't pick up the 4th and 2, the way they were humming.
I'm glad this game means that Len'Dale will finally get some national recognition. As I've said before, Reggie Bush wasn't even the best running back on his team for about 5 games this season. Hint . . . it's fun and easy to run when your blockers are 7 yards downfield lying on top of D-Linemen. The USC O-line is amazing. But Len'Dale seems like another Cadillac Williams to me.
Leinart will be a fine pro if he isn't a headcase. He can get really emotional and put himself into slumps. I think he's a winner. I KNOW Young is a winner, full stop, and will win Super Bowls for whoever's lucky enough to get him.
Final observation -- Pete Carroll doesn't hate to lose enough. He just likes being in the great games, he's ok if his team loses. I hate that.
Sigh, 12 point lead with 7 minutes left. Hats off again to the 'Horns.

-It fades out every mile in the city. Since my car stereo doesn't have an aux input I have to play the thing through my FM radio, which SUX. The thing fades out in the city, which means you have to tune into a new channel on your radio, then a new FM channel on the Sirius.
-The unit has to be plugged in to the antenna that I had to install and to the cig lighter. Switching between my portable GPS and the Sattelite receiver is a PITA I could do without.
I am glad I sold the stock when I did.

You can get a cigarette lighter splitter and keep both plugged in. Alternatively, you can know the fuck where you're going in your own hometown without needing a GPS.
Let me know if you figure out how to fix the static on FM --I'm going nuts with the same problem. I think there's not enough blank spaces on the LA FM radio dial.

He ran for 200 yards and passed for 270 more. Obviously, college is vastly different from the NFL, but damn. He was playing against the best team in the nation.
I went into the game prepared to be wowed by Reggie Bush, but if I were David Carr, I'd be very nervous right now.

All that's true and all, but I have a feeling that the one play that made all the scouts nod was Reggie turning the corner on a VERY FAST Texas defense.
USC's defense -- not really pro-caliber tackling skills. There's three legit players on that defense (Lua, Rucker, LoJack). So I'm not sure what you can take out of Young running free time after time.

Left of Center, channel 26, is the college/indie station I listen to. Maybe my expectations are low because of the crappy commercial staions around here, but it does not seem formula-driven to me. Sure, they play White Stripes and The Killers, but they also play stuff I've never heard of before, like Dresden Dolls and, of course, Keane (kidding about that one, Flower).
Disorder 24 is the eclectic mish-mash that I have on most of the time. I don't think that that is the same station you mentioned, because they don't play hip-hop. My daughter says that the main hip-hop channel is pretty good, but she's a white suburban chick, so what does she know?

I'm told that XM has a better signal -- I just happen to have Sirius because that's what I was given, and I kept it because I really liked the folk station that they used to have. That being said, I haven't had too many problems with signal strength -- I guess it depends on all sorts of local variables.

Good, because there is no way I am asking. I'm into the dignity thing these days.

My FM transmitter on my iPod shares a space with a Mexican Christian station in some parts of town, so every now and then I'll hear all sorts of moaning about the "Sangre de Cristo". I kinda like it.
That said, at some point, I'll bite the bullet and get either the Alpine iPod interface (which may or may not interact with my Alpine head unit, I haven't checked) or the Harmon Kardon interface. Or I'll buy one of these cars.
(Why is it, btw, that American car companies haven't jumped on this particular bandwagon? Not that I'm looking to buy an American car, but it just struck me as a curious thing.)

What kind of clothing might this involve? Maybe the wedding dress from White Wedding?
