I'm curious which players the Flyer-haters dislike most. For instance, when I watched this past series I really hated, HATED, to hear the names Molgilny, Tucker, and Svehla. Just pissed me off. On the other hand hearing the names Kaberle or Sundin had no effect on me. Some players just get under your skin for no reason.

Let's see Lindros...oh wait, he's on my team...nah, fuck 'em, Lindros... and LeClair, Gagne and Recchi. I've always despised JR and Primeau. I'm hoping one of them pulls a Pelle Lindbergh. Did that bastard Tocchet finally retire?

Today my firm did NOTHING for our two assistants. That's right - nothing at all. I'm so glad I thought to bring some food and gifts myself (I figured this would happen), but damn - that's really not cool.
I am being extra nice to the assistants by leaving for the rest of the day (and not leaving a pile of work for them).

My boss came in, grabbed the doughnuts I brought in for the staff and exclaimed - "Happy Secretaries Day to me!" This after not acknowledging the real staff - despite several reminder emails from me in the past week. The King of Tact.

You should disclose to everyone that you took this picture before you ever even saw PLF's avatar, you freak.

But then everyone can go back to being abusive bastards just like the partners are to them. So don't worry, it's not for long.

Am I okay if I bring a gift of some sort tomorrow or do I have to do it today? I don't see anyone else around here being particularly nice to their staff. Although it seems like there are a lot of flowers around. Not pretty little ones, though.

Alas, Tocchet is gone, but I was glad that he won teh cup with Pittsburgh.
My list of players I hate is short, but my hatred is intense (please forgive my spelling):
Bossy (I still hate him the most)
Messier (hated him until Gretzky left, liked him afterwards...even as a Ranger)
Tikkanen (I hate him a lot, too. I'm glad he has no cartlidge in his knees.)
Kasparitus
Claude Lemieux
Konstantinov (I hate him, but I do feel sorry for him because of the accident.)
Barnaby
Niedermeyer
Scott Stevens

You make a good point, my friend.
FOR THE RECORD, this picture was taken years ago (long before I had children and could channel my obsessiveness towards them). The poor dog barely gets any attention anymore, much less a Halloween costume!
And, for any of you who missed it, here she is again!!
Doesn't she look proud to be wearing the crown?

I'd run out at lunch and pick something up if you have the time, (and we are not celebrating the whole week here - barely the day). If it is too inconvenient, I'm sure tomorrow will be fine, but you might want to tell em it's coming so em won't be crabby all day.

That she manages to retain so much dignity while wearing that getup is a tribute to the nobility of the breed.
r(may have to rethink the kids thing if it means less attention for the dogs)p

Hmmm. Would she be more of a freak to admit that she took the picture long before I had my avatar, or to admit that, inspired by my avatar, she ran out and bought a pink princess costume for her dog. Well, no need to enter the realm of the metaphysical. On two points we can all agree: 1) dtb = freak; 2) my avatar still reigns supreme over nearly everyone.

Drink More Tea
Tea Believed to Boost Body's Defenses
By PAUL RECER, AP Science Writer
WASHINGTON - An ordinary cup of tea may be a powerful infection fighter, a study suggests. Researchers report in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (news - web sites) that they have found in tea a chemical that boosts the body's defense fivefold against disease.
They said the chemical primes immune system cells to attack bacteria, viruses and fungi and could, perhaps, be turned into a disease-fighting drug someday.

Where do paralegals fall in the pantheon of administrative professionals (or, as we call them here in the hinterlands, secretaries)?

I have asked several directly, and they tell me that, while it is insulting to be considered a secretary when you think of yourself as a legal professional, the candy and flowers and resaurant trips are nice. The shorter, more direct answer is, this is one of those situations where you can offend someone no matter what you do.
