I quite like the flavor the molasses gives to coffee, but otherwise I find it interferes with whatever else you are sweetening tastes like. I often like honey. Sure can't use it for everything, but sometimes it has a nice flavor.

Fake-sweeteners just kind of gross me out, though.

Like any place else, you get what you pay for. The high end stuff is nice and the cheap stuff looks cheap. If your friend knows what he's looking for and can genuinely get a good deal, I say go for it. What we're really talking about here is boring clothes for boring people, right?

And, yeah, I know you texans have no call for sweetener for tea, what with your nasty-ass sweet tea and all.
We're not the sweet tea people. That's further east.

I'm with you on the Sweet & Low thing, though.

ETA: Scroll, then post, but I stand by the Sweet & Low.

Not His Perogative

Whitney and Bobby, Bobby and Whitney... Whitney checked herself out of rehab because the walls were closing in on her and Bobby landed himself back in jail. The Story

I'd be amazed if the daytime soaps haven't started watching their relationship for storylines.

Happy to have the backup of a native. I usually just use sugar to sweeten tea. Even a whole pack is like 15 calories I think and that's just not enough to matter. Half the time Idrink it straight, even. Yup. Tea, on the rocks, lemon, no sugar.

Sweet tea is really, really sweet though and probably calorie-laden. But it's good . . .

ETA I'm hot for Coltrane, but Flower's cats sound intriguing. Flower, would you be willing to rub sugar in the raw all over yourself? Please?

FWIW, Jos. A Banks always struck me as the Florsheim of suits. They're a decently put together, not very exciting, mid-range product, and are much favored by public servants and suburban dads everywhere. Slightly less "flair" than Brooks Brothers' (BB does have flair, in it's frumpy, pear-shaped way) and the fabrics tend to be less nice, but, based on long-term performance as observed in my Dad's wardrobe, JAB overall also has slightly higher quality of manufacture. A solid, basic suit source.

If the friend is (i) pretty much looking for his first suit, (ii) looking for a couple unadventurous, basic suits to anchor or fill out his closet or (iii) would have to scrimp, save and budget to get a $600 suit, then JAB at a discount sounds like a grand opportunity. If he's in a job that likes some flash in its suits (either because it is "creative" or because it pays enough that a certain higher-end quality is expected), putting the $$ in a piggy bank and/or heading for the Barney's warehouse sale might be a better investment.

That actually turned me on. The bit about Coltrane' martini glass chest hair. so manly.

I was going to include a snarky comment about her picking up on gwinky's tube top skirt fashion, but I can't do it. She looks too good.

I think it's safe to say "NOT IN LA, THEY WEREN'T." But that's ok, because I post lots of shit that's not germane to your life. See, e.g., my next post about "The O.C." last night.

Daaaay-um. I'm not usually a fan, but she looks HOT! Of course, all the starlets -- what a stupid word -- always stand like that to show off their legs to best advantage. However, in her case, she could probably sit so as to maximize fat-spread on her thighs and she'd still look good.

Again, I say, "Daaaay-um".

But if someone is looking for inexpensive suits, and has a deal to make them even more inexpensive, he could do worse. If you're not in the market for the $500 or $1000+ suits, they're not bad. What's the alternative, Syms or the Men's Warehouse?
Save up and buy a good one you can't afford. nothing makes a worse first impression than a cheap suit. And make sure your shirt's collar fits your neck. And get rid of the clunky Kenneth Cole shoes.
