2. Doug Flutie is 5'7" and throws sidearm with a modest amount of success (a lot of success if you count the CFL for anything). There was an article yesterday (or so) comparing the defensive line of USC to the 1985 bears' line. The USC line was bigger, by a lot. And bigger even that the Patriots' DL this year. Young is 6'5". He could throw underhand and still be succesful.
You think Vince Young has a drop-kick?

A two-fer. Kris Brown can get out of town too. He can share a cab with Carr--It will be sweet, too, like when Trump says "you're fired. wait, sit down. you're fired too."

If they draft Young they should keep him on the bench next year for 2 reasons-

1 you don't want to rush a quarterback into the starting lineup too early- see Joey Harrington- and

2 if Houston sucks hard enough again next year they'll get the number 1 pick again, and then they can go for a USC running back.

I'd generally agree with that for QBs drafted outside the top few picks.

Oh, yeah, Detriot took him with the no. 3 pick.

I seem to recall Carr being a pretty high pick.

SPOILER ALERT

Marla sucks giant mule balls. She is awful. Unoriginal, can't sew, brings nothing to the table. She'll probably make the finals. She is the Wendy Pepper of 2006.

ETA: I watched both Project Runway and the Rose Bowl. I am a regular Renaissance couch potato.

Houston sucks so hard core if I were Young and drafted by the Texans, I'd pull an Elway. It's rough to be a good QB pulled down by a perenially (or perianally) crappy team (see Testaverde).

Carr started his first year, and I think he was fairly respectable. That said, I fear that playing without an offensive line for four years has probably done things to him that cannot be undone. The Boselli thing wasn't something that could have been predicted the first year (though the Wikipedia article on him suggests otherwise), but there's no excuse for this year's absymal performance. Especially after going 7 and 9 last year. I've seen Carr play at nearly every home game that the Texans have played, and I think he's good, but I also think that after 76 sacks in his rookie year, 49 in his second year, 36 last year, and *sigh* 68 this year, he's a little gun shy in the middle.

On the other hand, in the waning days of the Oilers, Bud Adams acquired Steve McNair in a very early round draft pick, and I don't think he played a single down while the Oilers were still in Houston. Granted, Adams wanted the team to be so bad that the city was more than happy to let them go to Tennessee, but it didnt' seem to me like a good use of whatever they were paying him to let him sit on the bench and "develop."

Do any of the LA FBers have this? I cannot find a dead space on the dial in Los Angeles for which the FM transmitter will work worth a damn.

Has Carr ever really had a chance? I still think he could be a good QB, given the protection and decent coaching. That said, if I had any say in the Texans organization, I would trade down for Young, hopefully getting some help on the offensive line in the process. But if I had any say in the organization, they would be the Executioners instead of the Texans.

Hey, they called me to ask what I thought about the year (and beg me not to drop my season tickets). I'll be happy to let you in on the conversation when I call them back.
