Sweet pea, I don't know, I'm not one of those dilletante "lawyers" who bounce from job to job, unable to stay the course.

I say BS. I am a habitual job-hopper. I finally found something I like, but it took me 4 tries. First job was 6 months. Second was 2 years. Third was 1 year.

When I was thinking about leaving job three, a couple people told me I should stick it out for a couple more years so I didn't look like a job hopper. My response was: if someone will hire me right now, why should I continue to subject myself to this shitty job for another year or two?

If you send the resumes out and get no bites, then you'll be sticking around one way or another, so it can't really hurt to send them out.
I guess it depends on whether you are in a shitty job. You probably made sideways jumps from shit to shit so it doesnt really matter. And dont tell me you dont tread in a world of shit bc if you didnt, you wouldnt be a shitty job hopper in the first place.

I wonder if there is some empirical evidence about job hopping and your background.

You mean, like people who are pissed about having to send their transcripts to prospective employers tend not to be able to jump from job to job?

No, more like people who went to your alma mater and started ou in a shit job bc thats all that hires out of Burger U. And then bc they have Burger U and Cooter, Cooch and TITS LLP on their resume can only jump to another shit firm like the Dangerfield. Baggins and Coltrane LLC. .

Ahh, now I understand. I guess it's different for the mid-first-tier graduates, who pick a firm and a city and never move. I'm jealous.

I could care less if you think my jobs were shitty, not that you would know. The only thing that matters to me is that I found a job I like that pays a decent salary and gives me time to enjoy my life. If that makes me a shitty job hopper, so be it.

At least I'm not an aging, arguably crazy, not-too-attractive spinster with a "great" job and a totally unfulfilling life.

Dear Cootiekins

The point here is that they could move to a good place if they so desired, but are morel likely to have happened into a gig that they liked (or could tolerate since we are talking about law firms) in the first place. WHich would probably also explain why they never moved. And this circles back to my point that this is the kind of person whose resume you want over that of some two year shifter.

Sincerely

Paigs.

Actually two are really good and in the area, but I don't want to encourage you to get a tattoo.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.
