wwtdd.com on Jessica Simpaon

"It seems clear by now that maybe singing just isn't Jessica's thing. In fact I'm not entirely sure what her thing is. If you could see a close up of her brain, instead of seeing an owl with glasses reading a book, you'd see a donkey asleep in the mud. And the donkey has a little hat. And for a while you might think the donkey is dead but then he yawns and stretches. And then we see a close up of the donkeys brain, and it's that old Steamboat Willie cartoon."

This guy is pretty damn funny.

I wish the bacon looked more cooked. If it did, I might paper my office in it.

OK, not really.

I don't want to get personal, but screw you NotBob. I invented that term. Do the research. I'll give you the history again if you've forgotten. GWFGWF was a spin-off of my original theme.

Archie McPhees is the coolest store ever. If you ever find yourself in Seattle, it is one of the highlights - along with the mummy on the pier.

And I want this.

Thanks for the link! I'm giving Mrs. Wonk the sushi windups for her birthday.

I haven't been to the new location (new as of 5 years ago maybe?). is it huge? the old one was pretty cramped, but so full of cool things that the cramped was actually good.

I think someone posted about this series- i just read Chuck Palahniuk's guide to his hometown- Portland-
http://www.chuckpalahniuk.net/books/...esandrefugees/

{Portland- Seattle- what's the dif right?

Anyway it's full of things you wouldn't know about just visiting and trusting some tourist guide book.

Other famous writers are doing their hometowns, don't know if they will be as out there as old Chuck (Fight Club)

So, I recently finished reading Middlemarch, which lived up to its billing, I'm happy to say.

Anyway, does anybody else think that the Mr. Brooke character could be the ur-Bertie Wooster?

I read the biography of PGWodehouse, but don't recall if it said anything about that, and I don't have that book with me here.
Since you're a Middlemarch fan, I would suggest that you not read You Slay Me, by Katie MacAlister. (Courtesy of the UnSuggester.)

Huge difference hank. There's no sales tax in Portland.

The new Archie McPhee store is about 3 times as big as the old one. But I haven't seen it.

This reminds me of someone. Who could it be?
