Speaking of HD...

As it stands, HD football is only on NFL package and ESPNHD.
College football has it's own package. I haven't seen any promos, but if any will be in HD it will probably be in ESPNHD.
Which sucks because then you'll have to see Sean Salsbury's fat ass after the game and his stunning commentary. And someone please tell him to stop yelling.

So it won't be broadcast on the standard ABC and CBS HD broadcasts? That's pretty fucked up. Of course, they are simply trying to compel you to buy the hd season pass...

Are you looking for yourself, or for a kid?
Makes a difference. A lawyer can buy himself a Corvette. He might choose differently for his kid.

HP's ipod
HP released it's iPod clone today, earlier than previously expected. It's available at hpshopping.com and is scheduled to ship in September. From the looks of it, it is indistinguishable from the Apple-branded version. Here's hoping Apple's supply chain can keep up.

I'm a bit surprised there's not any HP branding on it whatsoever, such as the software or back cover. Not that I'd want an HP branded on, but HP might.

There is, actually, a small HP logo on the back, along with an Apple logo.

If you haven't seen them yet, HP's commercials for their iPod are pretty cool.

Not that anyone appears to be interested, but I ended up purchasing the Roland TD-6V and am very pleased. They sound fantastic and are perfect for an apartment or other close living environment, because you can listen to them through headphones.
Not that that's necessary on the Island.

Headphones, eh? That's pretty cool. What kind of noise does it make otherwise? Does it just sound like drumsticks on plastic?

Laks 256/512 mb watch with MP3
I am a bit of a tech nerd, this looks pretty interesting. It also has a voice recorder. Has anyone used or seen one in person? (BMW and Porsche are marketing it under their mark as well for an extra $$)

Burger, please place under general gadgets
newbie error, but still puzzled on why the post started a new thread outside of general gadgets? (entered it under general gadgets)
Done-Burger. Hit "Post a Reply" not "Post a Topic" when you want to start a new issue in the same thread. A mistake we've all made.

Nokia 6620
OK, so I love my Motorola v600. However, I played with a Nokia 6620 the other day, and I have been infatuated since. The thing is WAY smaller than I expected, and the Symbian os (Nokia's Series 60) is incredibly powerful. Plus, it's got edge, which is quickly being deployed nation-wide. Anyone wanna buy a v600?

Satellite Radio
Does anyone have? I was in the hockey rink where my son practices and I heard all these old 80s tunes, for better or worse, such as "How Long" by Kansas.
What kind of stuff can you get? Can I get various ball games?
