I liked it. Aside from the Don making the show all about him and his ridiculous lifestyle and self-opinion, it was entertaining. They had a guy on it who made the moron who sent that coverletter drafted like a complaint look laid back.
I will watch.

You can't change the outcome of a game by being a bastard. But you'll pitch Dibble for the 4th night in a row if you've got $20k on the Reds.

gambling on the games he was managing? No difference? The closest you could come in comparison is that Ruth was too fucking hung over to play his best, and thus undermined the integrity of the game, but considering even so he was better than anyone else at the time, that argument goes nowhere. Cobb was just an illiterate racist who spiked or punched everyone. If he played in the NFL, that would be normal.
the only defense Ross has is that there's no evidence he bet while playing, and it's as a player he belongs in the hall (certainly not as a manager).

I say give him one shot at the hall vote, next year, and be done. he should have nothing to do beyond spectating with baseball ever again. BUt since baseball is a joke, he probably will.
|
Disagree. His statistics are so hall of fame worthy that to keep him out because he gambled is hypocrisy.
24 seasons. 3,562 games. 14,053 at bats. a .303 lifetime average. .987% fielding.
Charlie Hustle deserves the hall. That Pete Rose is a flawed man is unquestionable. That he was one of the few baseball players who played with heart and guts is also without doubt. I will not visit Cooperstown until Rose is there.

And, if that doesn't work, get a posse of incestuous friends whose hook-up antics make life worth living.

As a player he was a danger to others on the field. His play was disgraceful. Exhibit 1 is Buddy Harrelson. I'll let others submit the other exhibits.
Who do you want your kids to look up to and emulate, a no good corrupt bully like Rose or a boozing womanizer like Ruth? No contest.

And we appreciate your efforts on this board. But you may be overstating the case a little.

Fuck you fuck you fuck you.
Helping some asshole with way too many banjamins in his bank accounts turn it in to more and more money, all the while ensuring that no one else ever gets to touch his money....
well, lets just say, that's a pretyy lousy way to spend your days.
(and for the record, children of pharmaceutical magnates are the biggest fucking toads in the universe)

even better, ask them to live in a house and have their lives taped to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real.

And is that his actual apartment, or the one he's trying to peddle for $30M or whatever? Either way, it's the ugliest thing I've seen since vegas. add some cheap showgirls and it is vegas. JFC . . . talk about wasting a view.

I loved that one girl that no one else likes saying "This is rich. I mean really RICH. I can't believe how RICH this is." [Shot of a hideously gaudy chandelier].
