Brobeck

What ever happened to Brobeck Boy?

Clifford Chance isn't off the hook yet in litigation that has arisen from the collapse of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison.
At a hearing in San Francisco on Friday, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Dennis Montali put off considering a settlement proposed last month by Brobeck's bankruptcy trustee, Ronald Greenspan. But Montali told the parties that he was inclined not to approve it as currently drafted.

Montali noted that Greenspan plans litigation to void draws given to former Brobeck partners.

Looks like Less's life is about to get more difficult.

Because otherwise they would be unemployed.

Guilt

I have a small mammal's blood on my hands. On the way back from lunch, I ran over a squirrel. I saw it coming, tried to avoid hitting it and then felt my front tire, then my back tire roll over it. I can't ever remember hitting an animal before.

I'm pretty certain that there was nothing I could do to avoid it, but I do feel sort of bad for the little guy. From my preliminary forensic examination (from a rearview mirror leaving the scene at about 40 mph), he was dead and it was quick.

I can't imagine how I'd feel if I hit a dog or a cat.

Depends on how big a car you drive and how new your shocks and struts are.

MIRANDA: George, what are you doing?

GEORGE: Did you see that? That-that pigeon didn't move! I had to swerve to get out of the way! I saved that pigeons life!

MIRANDA: What pigeon? You drove right onto that squirrel.

GEORGE: Squirrel? Well, we have no deal with THEM!

Sigh. If only. I coulda beena contendah.

On a wholly unrelated note, I went to a function this weekend (a fund raiser for Planned Parenthood at which Alex Sanger, grandson of Margaret, spoke most movingly) at this KICK ASS house. It was un-freaking-believable.

I think it is what caused me to have a dream that a modern-day Mr. Darcy (played in my dream by Colin Firth, natch) was trying to win my hand and heart. I had to charm his reluctant parents (ok, so the "real" Mr. Darcy was an orphan -- so what?) at a fancy sit-down dinner, which, of course, I did with aplomb. He wanted to move the wedding up from a week to a day! I mean, can you blame him? The dream then got bogged down a little in making wedding plans and having my dress fitted. That part was boring. The part where I was to be mistress of Pemberley was pretty cool though.

Was that from the SATC/Seinfeld joint episode? Priceless. Almost as much fun as the scene where Kramer and Samantha hook up.

That old sawhorse? Are you kidding.....really....who cares? Not even us to be honest. People who care would sooner watch a Benny Hill marathon in HDTV on a wide plasma screen.

That reknowned Brit mathematician and philosopher Sir Alfred North Whitehead once remarked that "An enormous part of our mature experience cannot not be expressed in words."

This wisdom was apparently lost on guys like Bilmore, Atticus, Thurgreed, fringebenefit and SebastianDangerfield, to name but a few. We only post this because we care.

a) with that mullet and black eye shit , not to mention the name Midge, is there any question she could be anything other than a Raging Bull?

b) Moose is sort of how I picture your roomie to be. A big ape who keeps his Alpha Beta Chi Beer Bong Champion, '98 trophy on the mantle on top of the gigantic tv, nicely justaposed against the bronzed beeramind. Who gets to keep that when you and Sequels move out to Oak Park?

Didn't she try to fuck him with a strap-on? I loved that episode...
