As I recover from the first round of the playoffs, I thought that it would be interesting to revisit an old topic -- namely, whether your spouse or significant other or insignificant other (or all three) knows about us.

Using the FB as a dating pool could significantly reduce any perceived problems.
Or so I have heard.

I only smoke under two circumstances. When my wife and I won't be sharing a bed that night (ie, I am out of town or she is), or when I am out at a smokey bar without her.
In the first case she doens't get the chance to smell the smokey clothes/breath, and in the second case she's always half asleep in bed when I get home and fully expects me to smell smokey.
So let me re-phrase, I am an incredibly infrequent secret cigarette smoker.

Well, you are smooth.
I thought it was funny that two of you posted about secret smoking in consecutive posts, so my comments were more generally directed toward all the secret smokers.

You know, the FB. Home of salacious talk with imaginary friends. Or about the related PMs, IMs, emails, etc.

My last SO knew about these boards, and he understood fully what would be discussed. He and I met through another board, so he was aware of what can happen in cyberspace.

Does anyone think the one side in/one side out tuck job Andrew sports will catch on? I think I did that with my oversize tops in 1987, usually with stirrup pants and keds. Sometimes I would wear my socks UNDER my stirrup pants and sometimes OVER my stirrup pants. I was young and stupid and it was the '80s. What is Andrew's excuse?
I totally heart Tina Fabulous. Cocky as hell. And both my parents are from Oconomowoc.

MY S/Os over the years have known, mainly because I'll mention something that happens and have to explain it. Not a one has really understood so they have all said that's nice dear.
I don't know about telling people I run the damned thing though.
How will I explain that one? Well honey, you see, I waste an incredible amount of time running and posting on this board...do I get paid? No, no I don't get paid?...Credit? No, no, it has to be anonymous...but I have a very famous moniker? How is it famous? Oh it has been quoted in newspapers, isn't that cool?
Why? Oh well, you know, I'm just kinda fucked up that way.
I think I'll keep it to myself.

Sadly, I didn't need to look them up. It's a sickness that will never go away.

I am totally missing someting here. What is the problem? Is it that I haven't watched enough of the show to know something about Andrew?

No, Mr. Elk-to-be does not know. He definitely would not get it, so I'll just keep it to myself. A girl's got to have a secret or two.

No, you got it.
She describes herself as "classy," which is a fingernails on the chalkboard thing.
I don't watch the show (shocking, I know), but that doesn't bode well for a long-term relationship. Then again, he's pimping himself on ABC supposedly looking for a bride, so I am sure he has a passing familiarity with the word.
Edited to add:
It's the underlying pretension that is the problem -- for me, anyway. My family would not automatically object to a mate who described themselves as "classy."
This discussion reminds me of a conversation MumsyOdds and I had when I was a young(er) woman. I met a young, handsome Chinese diplomat at a party. We exchanged information and, after the party, I excitedly told her all about it and him.
Her comment was one of utter shock and dismay. She sputtered: "but he's a Communist."
In my family, that was far worse than pretension.
