I thought to myself "Do I love Tom Petty or has the acid just kicked in?". The sun was beating down with a warm desert breeze and people were playing cards all around us. They had those weird showery nozzle things around the perimeter and my friend started diving in.
bottom line: day tripping is excellent and yes I loved Tom Petty and yes the acid kicked in. I think I hav like five tom petty albums and Wildflowers is one of my alltime favorites. Thanks LSD!

Oh man, this is bringing me back. The year was, what, 1990? Double dosed before the show and, in the typical bonehead move, got impatient and double dosed again because we were sure it wasn't kicking in. Sitting out in the dusty parking lot, and things began to get confusing. Somebody was trying to make a pipe out of a coke can and cut his hand badly. Impossible amount of blood. One of the girls began crying and crying. These two other guys started yelling at each other, but the words were not really like words at all. A couple of us decide we need to bolt and went to the show. I think we missed part of it. Somebody had lost their ticket. Bad, bad tension. Do we stay together or leave this person alone outside. She pleads with us not to leave her alone outside, but we really want to see the show. We go in. Things get heavier and heavier. I start crying, weeping, I don't know why. I'm alone. People keep shaking me "Are you O.K.? ARE YOU O.K.????" Who are these people? They need to leave me alone. Their faces are distorted and I can see their bones coming out. I weep more. Suddenly there are cops, or security people, or something. They are yelling at me. Where are my friends? I start to run, and one security guy tackles me and drags me to the medical tent. Why do they have that needle? I don't want that needle! Horrible paranoid thoughts. Doctor is evil - part of some mad experiment. I will never see my family again. The cold drug shoots through my veins, and I slowly begin to stop shaking, and I did not even realize I was shaking. A few hours later, I am able to hitch a ride back to mildly close to home, and then start a 1.5 mile walk in the rain home, each drop stinging my incredibly sensitive skin.
Ah, good times. Thank you, LSD!

Thank you for selecting my post to be the "stupid post" in that thread. There were quite a few about the topic and I know that in order to be thorough you read them all before declaring mine the only stupid one -- otherwise it would appear that you are infatuated with me and are only reading and quoting my posts.
My recollection is that there was a silly little thread about "grades" on bar exams. I don't recall anyone arguing about who studied less -- just that many felt that in some situations (like a bar exam) you should do the minimum to get by rather than go all out. In essence, a thread about laziness. You wouldn't know anything about that.

Get with the program. We're arguing over what hallucinagenic is best. State a position or shut up.

Was this at the Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation concert? Did you miss the Black Cat song? Is that why you were weeping?

I'd rather just stick with alcohol. I just don't trust some drug-addled fuckhead to produce something I think is halfway safe or reliable enough for me to consume.
Mmmm, mulled wine.

Shrooms. At least back in the day -- none of that for me now.
Although there was a time when I thought that acid must be magic. I was walking down the street with a guy who had a "dot" in his mouth and he was talking to me and he goes "shit, I dropped it." It is dark (not pitch dark but dark) and he licks his finger, bends over, touches the road and then walks into the streetlight and has it on his finger -- fucking amazing, I thought. I tried acid a few times but I never felt magical or saw jesus or anything that I expected would happen. I got a raging headache each time I came down. Besides, feeling completely out of control scares the shit out of me -- and it felt that way.

Bad trip. Still is it fair to blame the drug for user error? Do we curse all planes and ground them forever because a few pilots fly the things into the ground?

These may be the truest words you have ever spoken. Clearly the Flower was sailing without a Captain.

The BIL comes through

I told him we had picked out things in a variety of price ranges and started showing him them from the top. He gasped a little at the sapphire earrings so I moved to the next step down. When we got to the third level down, he got tired of looking and asked me which ones she liked best. I told him the sapphires. He ended up getting the sapphire earrings and a matching sapphire pendant. I was shocked; my sister is going to be speechless.

Two words and then a question:
How much?
And what did he do that he needed to buy all this crap for her to buy her forgiveness and rent a spot (until the next payment) in her bed? I want to know.

I think a more accurate statement would be:
Two words that form a question, then another question, then a declarative statement.

I never experimented with any drugs and now I feel like I'm too old to start. I guess beer will have to do.
