Just when you think it can't get worse
Here is more from the Terrorist...er, Democrat Party:
Quote:
Pelosi Refusing to Support British on Iran? It's hard to believe, but that's what we're hearing from Capitol Hill. A resolution has been proposed in the House of Representatives that condemns Iran for the seizure of British sailors and marines, expresses support for our British allies. It's hard to see anything controversial in that. But apparently, the resolution has languished all week while Pelosi refuses to allow it to come to the floor.
Earlier today, Congressman Eric Cantor wrote the following letter to Pelosi:
- Dear Madam Speaker:
Fifteen kidnapped British marines and sailors recently became the latest victims of a systematic Iranian campaign of terror and international defiance. The illegal seizure of the British forces is a signal that Iran views us as powerless to prevent it from realizing its aggressive ambitions.
For the sake of our standing in the world, our allies and most importantly the 15 British personnel and their families, I urge you to bring H. Res. 267 to the floor today before we adjourn. The resolution calls for the immediate and unconditional release of the British marines and sailors. It would also call on the U.N. Security Council to not only condemn the seizure, but to explore harsher sanctions to counter the growing Iranian threat.
A Republican Congressional staffer writes:
- It is simply staggering to me that Pelosi refuses to stand beside America's closest ally. I literally would not have thought this possible, until I saw it this week..

Tax guy thinks we should represent him in the copyright case!!!!! Hint there is no case, just a determination of how much he owes- great potential client though- what can we get for a retainer, maybe have his mom make us lunch for a month?

Yes, because factory workers and professionals have always suffered economic hardship side-by-side, each one sharing in the other's victories and defeats. Solidarity forever!

Put in a rider that she has to use the good cold cuts - no Velveeta cheese sandwiches. Let's just say I learned the hard way how you can get burned on a seemingly sweet deal like this.

Really nothing else to say here. If ABC doesn't distance themselve from these statements, there's really no reason to ever listen to a MSM network again.

It's rare when a person is so useless and offensive it can be said without being at all hyperbolic we'd be better off without her alive. It's even more rare when a person can continue to be so wek after week, without fail. Rosie's streak is like DiMaggio's if every game of his were a month of her being on the air.
Were she hit by a bus walking out of the studio 70% of this country (equally blue and red staters) would say nothing but "good riddance." It's really amazing when you can be that out of touch and not even be in political office.
It's a damn shame people like Edwards' wife, who seems nice (her deluded politics aside) and Tony Snow (his deluded loyalty aside) get cancer, while an imbecillic waste of organ donations like O'Donnell breathes our air in perfect health.
I don't wish death on anyone. I wish its slowest form on Rosie.

Aw come on. I'm trying to be consistent here. It dosn't skeeve you out a little bit when people say "Oh, globalization is inevitable" when it applies to factory workers, then flip it out when it applies to their fat, chair warming, middle management asses?
Fuck them. We should all eat cake. We deserve it. We're a country overpopoluated with fat, lazy, apathetic, uncreative people.
I should be on a street corner, panhandling. It's pathetic I was able to squirrel away any amount of money with my years of shystering. I've been a boil on society's ass, stealing from business one way, then another. I have no business having drinks with my doctor friends.*
*Excepting those times I did criminal defense, which were laudable.

"Unchangeable reality"? My dear Sebby, when I hear you talk about your belief in the religion of free trade, it reminds me of my Great-Uncle Winthrop, the black sheep of the family. While spending some time with jazz musicians, opium dealers, and Free Love advocates in Paris in the 1920s, Winthrop fell under the influence of a reportedly gorgeous Soviet woman named Ninotchka, and eventually renounced God, Country, and (most shockingly to his mother) the income from his grandfather's trust.
Alas for Uncle Winthrop, Ninotchka left him to return to Moscow, and he sailed back in sadness to the US, whereupon he promptly renounced his renunciation of the income, but otherwise remained a Communist (or, as he called himself, a "Scientific Socialist") for the rest of his long life.
Where was I? Oh, yes. Your constant bleating about the "inevitability" of free trade reminds me of Uncle Winthrop's lectures about historical materialism, and dialectical materialism, and why even though it seemed like the proletariat (peasants in Kansas; workers in Akron) were perfectly happy with Maytag washing machines and Zenith televisions, their revolt against the capital overlords was a historical inevitability.

Yes, of course, as a matter of simple morality I am a fully paid up member of the Uncle Sebby "Fuck Em All" Society.
But as a practical matter, I can see the globalization buck stopping somewhere short of Senior Analyst at Goldman or Regional VP Of Marketing at Conde Nast. They won't like it and will have a bit more wherewithal when it comes to not having to take it than the autoworkers did.

They're already insulating themselves by gearing more and more of their efforts toward foreign deals.
You're right. There will always be a line of hyper wealthy folks at the top who remain untouchable. But I don't think Wall St. is going to be spared the fallout from the housing market's slow slide. There's a lot of high salaries to be savaged in the mortgaged back securities arena.

Whoa, wait, were we talking about globalization, or about mortgage-backed securities? Are you still drunk from last night?
I like the "mortgaged back securities" concept.
