You realize, of course, that many, many Dems feel that that this was exactly what the Rs did in 2000.

What Joe Kennedy did to his daughter and the lies that the Kennedys told about this is a story that needs to be told. Loudly. Bless Eunice's heart for trying to create a silver lining on that black cloud, but it in no way vitiates what her father did.

We realize you think that way. It is just that we also realize that you have no basis for feeling that way. It was Gore who was trying to selectively recount counties. It was a Dem election supervisor who approved those ballots you all complain about so loudly.

Stay tuned, skippy.

I do, but I think they are wrong. The GOP did not file the initial complaint.

Setting aside any discussion of the events then, you think that the GOP is the party that it was 44 years ago?
Shit, Karl Rove wasn't even a twinkle in Beelzebub's eye back then.
GOP does not stand for "Granddad's Old Party."

And, as a matter of fact, Eric Alterman, in his book What Liberal Media cites this popular misperception as proof of how fawningly the media treated W during the 2000 election and the aftermath. The Rs filed the first suit, and then complained to the media about how the Dems were trying to litigate the election and steal it in the courts. Their complaints got the headlines, in spite of the facts to the contrary.
Does this mean there's a conservative bias in the media? I don't think so, other than the obviously biased sources. I think it means more of a bias towards laziness. It's easier to quote Baker et al. than it is to investigate facts.

Why don't you illuminate me. Why would the GOP challenge results which showed they won?

The FCC will not stop Sinclair from airing their documentary. I am not as incensed about this as my liberal bretheren and sistren. (I also think that the brouhaha over the whole thing has been a disservice to Our Cause, as it draws more attention to the docu than if it had aired without comment.)

I will be a little irritated, though, if the FEC has a similar ruling.
e bc I'm an idiot and put in the wrong link

As was required by Florida law. There was no provision for a general recount.
