I don't watch the TV so I don't know what you are talking about. Or who you are talking about. I am aware that there is/was a show called Deadwood on HBO.

Honestly? Not really. I think it's part of the unique circumstances of how these schools have grown, generally. States have big schools with many students. Their programs have grown over the years because of that. Now, huge money is made and they pack these huge stadiums. They have built-in fan bases in the alumni and tradition plays a huge role.

TM and I seem to agree with respect to a sports argument. Does that mean I get to be on his team? Pick me! Pick me!

Jolie also seems to actually demonstrate that she cares about people other than herself (like her kids or Cambodia/Africa), so even though she's a nutbag, she's a caring nutbag.

I don't want to fly. I'm lazy. I don't see the pain in the ass thing with Aniston, but I've never cultivated any inherent ability I might have to determine whether a woman I don't interact with in actual life is a pain in the ass.
Jolie would want to talk about politics and shit all the time. ALL THE TIME. And I don't like traveling or places that smell bad (this includes the corner of San Vincente and 3rd St. across from the Beverly Center -- where the dumpsters for the strip mall with like 5 restaurants in it are). So she's astounding to fuck, and might be interesting to sit next to at a dinner party or whatever, but LTR? blech. Exhausting.

The little bit of an eye on the DP* is really, really cute. Slightly cuter than the adult, nose-only version.
*"eye" -- DP. heh.

You know that with your lack of sports knowledge you are getting picked after NFH for this one, right?

As to the premise, there are a lot of private schools in division 1 sports - ND, USC, Duke, Stanford, Georgetown, Syracuse, St. Johns, etc. Are you making a football only distinction or do schools that join in the fray in basketball make the cut too? What makes you think that private schools don't buy in? I think schools need to be of a certain size or (sports) reputation in order to compete on the elite levels, so that makes it more likely that the large, state schools will have competeive programs, but maybe I'm missing something.
|
I think basketball is a lot cheaper and offers better return on the investment, so private schools -- e.g., your alma mater -- tend to focus their efforts there.

On the funding thing or whatever, do I really need knowledge? It seems like the team captains are actually doing all the talking. And how much substantive knowledge do the DD and DP share with others? None. None!
I can think of no other arguments in my favor.
