Lose the ALL CAPS heaaders, especially when it is just a vanity post. I think most of the board would mainly agree that I am entirely correct on this poinst. its a foul truth, but it should make you less ignorable.

Things that irritated me today
You get our hopes up with this:

And then, you post this:

If you're going to tease us, at least put your pointless comment in a different post next time. You didn't even give me a few seconds of happiness.

I invented and retired that schtick. And as Wonkie said, trying to teach a pig to sing just pisses of the pig. You cant tell a young white male that he cant make racist, agist jokes bc he is in the demo that has everything. including roomies.

The conservatives were already going to vote for him, and all it takes is an incremental further alienation of the middle to push the election to the Dems. One lifelong Republican on this board has told me s/he wants to write a letter to the White House. It won't take many of those, along with Republicans upset about boys in body bags, record deficits, record farm subsidies, etc. to tip the balance.
But for Prohibition (and we all know how well that worked), almost every amendment to the Constitution has granted greater freedoms and civil liberties to people rather than the reverse, particularly where, as here, there is no harm done to anyone else. The parallels to a Reconstruction Era "separate, but equal" are uncanny, as has been noted before, and I think (and hope) they will ultimately bite Bush on the ass. This is going to be the civil rights issue of this decade, and Bush and his ilk are ultimately going to lose it. When this Supreme Court can strike down all sodomy laws just 35 years after the first real public awareness of homosexual rights (Stonestown) despite hundreds of years of discrimination and persecution, the tide has turned and did so quickly. Bush was ill-advised to make this a flagship issue. The tide may be a riptide.
|
Less,
1. Bush is struggling to find any flagship issue to take peoples' eyes off Iraq and the jobless recovery. This will have to do, for now.
2. The Amendment will never pass. Conservatives are already saying they're appalled that Bush's people so cavalierly fuck with the fabric of the Republic (Patriot Act, pushing the war w/o a real technical "war vote", etc...).
3. Bush is betting on his base. He needs to make up the moderates and real conservatives he had last time around, but has since lost.
4. Kerry ain't likely to beat him without someone like Edwards on the ticket. Kerry's a fucking corpse. Gore 2004.

I liked Amy's voice and I thought Leah sounded awful -- she had major breathing problems and was off-pitch a lot. I think it's obvious that the judges want either a minority female or a teenage female to win this Idol b/c that's the only demographic they don't have yet (they have twentysomething white Kelly, minority male Ruben, and white bread male Clay). Almost everyone they've pimped so far has been a female who is either a minority or a teenager (or both). I think they would LOVE to have a minority teenage female win (they desperately want to tap into the Hillary Duff/Lindsay Loehman teenage girl fan base)so I expect them to pimp Jasmine next week (16 year old Hawaiian girl).

I didnt see Jonah flailing his arm flab ina black tank top. If Amy had a nice hawaiian shirt on and a monochromatic hairdo, she would not visually offend me. But there are two people in this world with whom I agree on everytihng, Simon Cowell and Bill Maher. And like Jonah, Amy has been much better in the past. And whats with you and the love of the gay girls?

My love of baby dykes is not rational and I don't try to excuse it by claiming that they can sing. It's like you and fat men -- deep down you know that Jonah is a sucky singer who will probably have a heart attack if he ever has to sing for more than 60 seconds straight, but you just can't help loving him. But I think Brianna has been the only gay girl so far -- is Amy gay? If so, that could explain why I hit redial for her about 50 times last night. I threw LaToya a few votes (mostly to see how busy her line was -- pretty busy, but I still got through about 75% of the time) but I don't think she's gay.

I DIDN'T REALLY FUCKING CARE ABOUT THE SUBTITLES. I'm not going to see it because I don't in general care for snuff films, and I certainly don't want to support a snuff film that will used by certain less desirable members of our society to promote an agenda of hate in the name of power and hegemony. Especially since the bulk of the people watching the film for that purpose will fail to grasp the irony that Christ's crucifiction was nothing more than a cynical murder committed in support of maintaining power and hegemony.
There. I feel much better. I should have just stuck with "I read the book."

But do we see Monica Belucci's tits? And why didn't Brando play Pilate... "They teach young guards to crucify saviors, but they can't scrawl 'fvckvs' on their sword sheaths..."

I would agree with this. That said, it will be the kind of thing that's likely to piss more people off than it will gain support. I mean, seriously, who else is the Christian right going to vote for?
Ugh. Okay. Enough.

No, I see you as having pink hair as a way to expresss your differentness, coupled with black tanks and flabby arms and lots of makeup as a goth way of expressing your differentness, all so you could avoid the fact that the real reason you were different is that you were gay, which you werent ready to admit.
the pale flabby thing comes from the fact that you are from rural PA.

1. Depends on what you call a vacation. We will go away separately for a couple nights or so with friends. I may go to Vegas or an occasional weekend of carousing with the guys or to conferences, etc. She's goes to similar things with her girlfriends, including Vegas (suffice to say we have different interests in Vegas). Anything of any duration longer than a long weekend we go together. No trust issues, and we know and like everyone the other goes with...
That said I have friends who do go on separate vacations. One goes to the north woods of Canada for a week fishing with his buddies. From what I understand, his wife has no interest, goes somewhere else during the year with her friends, and they still vacation together...
2. 2 kids. They stay at home with the non-vacationing spouse unless we're visiting family. We take our oldest to places appropriate for his age occasionally. Our youngest is too young to know what's going on... The pilgimage to see The Mouse is still a couple of years off.
3. Spouse stays home, and has her hands full, let me tell you...
