Quant theory can give a weight to the pleasure inherent in human interaction . . .

I wish I knew why, but I really like pointless lists. Somewhere out there are lists of the 10 Greatest Contributions of Gansta Rap to Society or the 10 Greatest Types of Toilet Bowl Cleaner.

There really needs to be a website that collects such things.

Irish Health Minister tries to put a positive spin on smoking ban:

“The major social phenomenon that has arisen from this, I’m told, is a new type of dating,” he added. Men have been striking up conversations with women while they smoke legally outside bars and clubs. “Outdoors is apparently the place to touch base, to make contact,” he said, quoting newspaper reports. Tonight on the After the Final Rose special, she'll say, "Obviously, it's a beautiful ring and Andrew said that he bought that for me and that it was mine to keep, so I'm gonna keep it." Finally, if you're going to go into Bachelor withdrawal after tonight's show, ABC and creator Mike Fleiss have something to hold you over: another ABC dating series, this time called The Two Timer. Instead of one guy making out with multiple women who all know they're competing for his affection, this new series will feature one guy making out with and/or dating perhaps multiple women every day, some of whom are oblivious. The star of the show, Chris, calls himself "The Chrisser," according to ABC, and "sees himself as the ultimate player."

The Chrisser sounds like quite a catch. I will get my Tivo ready for this.

I think the Oscars should have a counterpart for worst performances. I'm going to call them the Notscars.

Last night I was flipping through the channels and watched part of Commando (one of the Schwarzenegger crapathons) and I'd like to nominate Vernon Wells for worst bad guy ever.



Whose idea was it to cast an overweight Freddy Mercury in this role, anyway? Forget Ahnold. How long would he last in a fight with Richard Simmons?
