Travis is a secret? I didn't get that memo either.

It is a secret that I like them. Mainly because someone is liable to come along and mention that they are wussy and British, etc. Being wussy and British is a big selling point for a band in my little world. Hence I like Travis. Shh.

Every so often a hairdo comes along that seems utterly ludicrous at first - but which soon becomes as common as cornflakes. The Fin is one such hairstyle. Ideal for those growing out last year's crop (Mr Beckham is sooo behind), the Fin is essentially a short back and sides with a twist - the longer hair on top is gelled into a dorsal fin. Once a hairdresser has given you the basic cut, everyday styling is quick and easy.

fin fin fin fin fin

The fin is always in.

Finally, a concise and non-apologetic explanation for my periodic defense of Depeche Mode.

That is never a nice thing to say to a man.

yes, well, maybe if someone would downsize the cute kitten avatar, I would magically become nicer. it's hard to be nice when one is representing a bird-flipping cat.

Are you the only one who doesn't realize that your avatar bit has passed the Tiresome neighborhood and entered Waste of Postville?

heh

I like rock stars with a sense of humo(u)r.

It's probably a good idea that the award doesn't even touch the fan-fic genre.

Sting to Present Britain's Bad Sex Award
Tue Dec 2,12:11 PM ET

LONDON (Reuters) - No embarrassment will be spared on Wednesday when rock star Sting presents one of Britain's least-desired literary awards -- the Bad Sex in Fiction Award.

Now in its 11th year, the dubious honor is awarded by the Literary Review magazine for the most inept description of sexual intercourse in a novel.

It has just been brought to my attention that Paul Rudd (on the laminated list) will be playing on Celebrity Poker Showdown in December. At the same time as Ron Livingston (an also ran for the laminated list). I may have to close my door and take a moment...

Here is a run-down of the celebs who will be playing -- http://www.bravotv.com/Celebrity_Pok...wdown/Players/

[Shannon Elizabeth will be playing too, for those in the viewing audience who care about that sort of thing.]

I thought Paul Rudd was very cute until he showed up on Friends. He is not great looking or young enough to get away with the doughy, unkempt look. Why his agent is letting him appear onFriends like that is a mystery ... unless it's in Lisa Kudrow's contract that her romantic interest can't be cuter than she is.

Perhaps he was filming The Shape of Things. He had to gain a bunch of weight for that film. It is all off now though...

Alas, like so many others, he is too short for me IRL. THat alone has not bumped him off the list though. But it (along with the wife, natch) has made the possibility of eventual marriage to him much less likely...
