The Irony
- SANTA FE (AP) - Gov. Bill Richardson could continue to play a prominent role in the lawsuit filed by Wen Ho Lee against the federal government.
Lee claims government officials leaked classified and personal information about him to the media. Richardson was secretary of the Department of Energy at the time.
The Albuquerque Journal reports that Richardson and several others were again identified in a recent federal court ruling as likely sources for the leaks in 1999 that identified Lee as a suspect in an FBI investigation into loss of nuclear secrets to China.
Lee was charged with mishandling classified information but was exonerated on all but one count.
Richardson has denied in sworn testimony that he was the source for the media reports about Lee.
A spokesman for Richardson said he does not comment on pending litigation.

His articles were written in the 1930s. Roosevelt must have recognized their government, or started trading with them or something.

Good lord. Didn't we fill, like, fifteen iterations of this board covering all of these items back when? It's like someone now saying "could you please prove to me that Bush won the election, or stop calling him the president."
(But you'd take a good NYT article on faith, though, right?)

It's not like that at all. Turd Blossom conducted a smear campaign, spreading all manner of rumors and innuendo about Wilson (who apparently wasn't enough of a hack to intentionally include false statements about yellowcake in the SOTU Address). What is the evidence that Plame was virulently anti-W, at least prior to her outing by Turd Blossom? Just because you want to believe it doesn't make it true.

2. EXACTLY - Like if we found WMDs and no killing fields somehow Saddam Hussein would have been a more evil dictator. What I don't get is that Liberals take this position that invading was immoral. OK maybe you can argue that invading Iraq may not have been in our strategic interest. But kicking Saddam out of power was not the moral thing to do. Please. Tell that to the Kurd and Shiite families that lost family members.

Yeah, he did, in 1933 or so. Penske and I argued about it at the time on the Greedy Politics Telegraph Board -- I said that recognition didn't signify approval of the Bolshies, and Penske retorted that Kn,uihvfwhjbv bjakyhghbkj kgkhkjhe!*

Actually, that's a nickname that the President gave Rove back in the day.
You know, like Kenny Boy Lay.

I don't think it was immoral.
But your boy fuckin lied. He lied, and you people said Clinton was a criminal for lying. So I'm calling your sons of bitches the scumbags they are. Don't change the fucking subject by saying your boy's lies were justified. Thats not the fucking debate and you know it.
Your people lied. Just like their predecessor whom you hated so much. Now you've finally been caught with your pants down, and you sons of bitches are hedging and parsing the definition of "is." Only this time the word is "knowingly."
You have no moral high road. Your people are as dirty and shitty as those who came before and those who'll follow. All I want is for you to get off your fucking moral highhorses and admit you're backing a liar.

I doubt that liberals - I mean the really virulent ones, not the normal people - care one whit about Iraq, or Saddam, or any of that stuff. Bush was for it - and therefore, since they have no real positions themselves, they are against it. Had we not invaded, and then found out that SH had WMD's, they'd be crowing for Bush's head. It's not a position, nor is it morality - it's opportunistic positioning. But, simply to see them all come out in opposition to freeing women in those societies, to come out in favor of dropping walls on gays, against people choosing their own leaders, in support of the killing off of people based on race - well, it's been entertaining.

My Grandfather said that Roosevelt was turning this country into a socialist country and that his being nice to the Soviets meant that he was leading us toward joining the Comintern.
I kind of like Wilson (especially his 14 points). Does anyone know why my Great Grandfather thought that Wilson was so anti-black. He said that Wilson was the "Negroes and the Coloreds worst enemy" and that it was like having Jefferson Davis as Presdient. In addition, I just find it hard to believe that the African American vote was that strong in rural Washington state.

Oh, wait, no, that was Clinton, Kennedy, Kerry, Allbright, Chirac, Schroeder, . . . .
Sorry.
