On a serious note... The Littlest Finger was diagnosed with a peanut and tree nut allergy by an allergist. We don't know how bad, but we carry an Epinephrine Pen with us just in case.

Very scary stuff.
Those are the tough ones. If em's really sensitive, the slightest bit of nut schrapnel can cause a reaction. Not to scare you or anything. But there's even peanut butter in egg rolls. Hell, even a 3 musketeers bars says it could contain nuts.

Could be worse, a friend's kid is allergic to wheat, eggs and nuts. He really hated his birthday cake.
I worked with a lady who was allergic to salt. She could never eat in a restaurant as everything has salt in it. All she ever had for lunch was unsalted cottage cheese and unsalted soup. Bleah.

It is worse. Current tally is milk, egg, wheat, peanuts and tree nuts. Neither Mrs Hand or I are really allergic to anything substantial.

Em's expected to outgrow the first three in a year or two, but the nut allergy you don't outgrow.

This is worse than TF telling us how she didn't start studying for the Bar until she was bent over the bed reading her outlines while getting banged from behind on the night before the exam, worse than PP latest "I'm cooler than you" thread, worse even than the TM random-attack-of-the day screed.

It may even be worse than the "my city's buildings are more distinctive than your city's buildings." The jury's still out on that one.
Oh, pull the drupe out of your ass and lighten up. It's the holidays.

Reverse Sexual Harrassment

This black, male NYSE employee sued alleging he was sexually harrassed by his blond, female boss.

Excerpt from Villiage Voice article:
Quote:
she "would wait until she was alone with [him] and rub her legs or her breasts up against [him]." When Crawford, who is married and has a daughter, objected and shied away, the bullish Germino "would ask whether [he] was uncomfortable with what she was doing." Sometimes, he stated, Germino would "run her hands up her skirt, partially exposing herself" to him.

Yeah, usually because the drugs made them forget the other three years of college.

I'm guessing you have your gay impulse well under check.

Drugs & pupil dilation

That's dumb.

Refrigeration drives humidity from the air. High people get the munchies. The munchies cause them to spend inordinate amounts of time peering into dim, dirty, (and usually empty) refrigerators, from which said dehumidified air blows directly into the eyes, causing irritation.

TM
1. A little less than $1500 (which is about 3X what he paid for her wedding ring). But the Fugee Sis and I had pre-scouted things (so I would know what she liked) ranging from a high of $770 to around $100 and I wasn't going to pressure him to spend more than he wanted. It just had to be a gift that was solely for her, not something he really wanted that he called her present. I was just shocked that he really got into it and decided to spend more.

2. He didn't need to buy her forgiveness and she hasn't kicked him out of bed for any number of dumb-ass things he's done in the past so she wouldn't have no matter what he gave her for Christmas. But he's penny-wise and pound-foolish cheap (hence the earlier stories about him refusing to pay for garbage service and letting landscaping die to save a few bucks on the water bill; and my sister has had to pay for all home improvements like windows that don't leak and air conditioning) and he recently inherited about $400,000 so I thought it was about time he bought her a Christmas present that cost more than $25. Oh, and I just negotiated a $6300 discount in the cost of one of his more pound-foolish escapades so I felt justified in expecting him to spend a little of that on her since I did the work for him at the "you're family, just take me out for dinner at Perkins" rate.

All things considered, he's damn lucky to have my sister. I don't know who else would be so laid back about his little eccentricities.

Are those good enough reasons for you?

Unhappy Even the royal corgis aren't safe from them . . .

Queen's corgi killed by pitbull

An excerpt:

One of the Queen's corgis has been killed by an English bull terrier owned by Princess Anne.

The Queen was said to be "absolutely devastated" over the death of Pharos after he was savaged by Dottie, according to The Sun newspaper.
. . .

Anne arrived with Dottie and as the door was opened by a servant the Queen's corgi raced down to greet her, the newspaper reported.

The bull terrier then attacked Pharos, injuring the corgi's legs.

He was treated by royal vets and kept in intensive care overnight but had to be put down.
