The car board is not dead.
I get to pick the car. She gets to re-do the kitchen...and apparently pick the car.

Betcha feel better about it all now, don't you? Go ahead, say it to yourself: "I am the master. The Master." I did it just now and it gave me the boost I needed to get right back to work on whatever piece of stupid fucking pointless shit I'm supposed to be pretending to care about to pay the rent.

Is it gone or am I crazy?

Anyway, I'm buying a new car. Here's what I've (sort of) narrowed it down to:

Audi A3 (i love it - wife does not like)
Saab 9-3
Acura TL
Infiniti G35 (2007)
Adobe
Other

Pick my ride. Quickly. My Grand Cherokee is falling apart faster than I can say "shitcockballsmotherfucker!"
Don't you love the Environment? Take public transportation, dammit.

I used to have an Acura. Most dependable car ever. Never had a problem with it.

That said, while I don't like the A3, I love the A4.

Well, his name doesn't happen to be Rockefeller. I suspect the custom contour seats and the beverage gripping dash make the Adobe an attractive choice.

When I bought my car, I was looking for a convertible with a real back seat (for the kid) that got solid reviews from Consumer Reports and similar sources. That narrowed me down really quickly (to the BMW 325 and a Mercedes that was too expensive). But I don't know how you got from a Grand Cherokee to the stuff on your list.
I want a nice, smaller sedan that's fairly quick and gets good mileage. I've driven SUVs all my life (except for my first car, a four-banger white 1987 Mustang - sounded like a freaking lawnmower), and am sick of their size, poor handling and crappy gas mileage.

Uh-oh. No buttonholes, and now I have the wrong car. PPNYC is NEVER going to fuck me.

Whether the BMW 3-series is worthwhile depends on the year. For a while they were trying to make that a lower-cost, starter-type car in the hopes of securing brand loyalty. Didn't work, kind of backfired, and they got over it.

The higher-end BMWs are just too damn big.

I do. Every weekday. To and from work.

Seriously, if Chicago's climate were like San Diego's, I'd just by a scooter or something.

I have a 9-3 Aero convertible. My favorite car that I have actually owned to date. Of your other choices I am not sure I would do any of them, and my other choices are probably too old guy for you.

Maybe the Z4? If I had no kids that I acknowledged unproven paterntiy over, I would go with that.

It might be because of comments like,

"It doesn't matter *who* stays home as long as someone who loves that child does.

They do so well with a parent home. sigh"

Spokesman: These days, everyone's talking about the Hyundai, and the Yugo. Both nice cars, if you've got $3,000 or $4,000 to throw around. But, for those of us whose name doesn't happen to be Rockefeller, finally there's some good news - a car with a sticker price of $179. That's right, $179. The name of the car?

Adobe. The sassy new Mexican import that's made out of clay. German engineering and Mexican know-how helped create the first car to break the $200 barrier. At this price, you might not expect more than reliable transportation - but, brother, you get it! Extra features: like the custom contour seats, or the beverage-gripping dash. And the money you save isn't exactly small change!

Jingle:
"Hey, hey, we're Adobe!
The little car that's made out of clay!
We're gonna save you some money
that you can spend in some other way!
Hey, hey, we're Adobe!
Hey, hey, we're Adobe!
Adobe!"

[ show Adobe driver get into a fender-bender. She casually steps out of the vehicle and uses her hands to mold her bumper back into its proper shape, in under six minutes! ]

[b]Spokesman:/b] Adobe. You can buy a cheaper car. But I wouldn't recommend it!
