Movies I saw over the weekend

Hayden Christensen in "Life as a House" reinforced my long held belief that George Lucas makes every decent actor he comes into contact with look bad.

I saw most of Buffy Season 7 this weekend. I also saw Kill Bill Volume 1. On careful consideration, I think Buffy seasons should be ranked accordingly: 2 (Angel), 1 (Master), 3 (Mayor), 5 (Glory), 4 (Initiative), 7 (First), 6 (Willow).

You should pick up the DVD of the first season, which has all 22 or so episodes for $30 or so. I could explain exactly why, but you would enjoy it more if you watched it from the beginning. I usually only buy DVDs of shows when I haven't seen all of them, but AD is so funny that I got it the first day it came out. The commentary is especially funny.

Spoilers:
The father (George Sr.) fled somewhere after escaping from jail, where he is being held pending trial for securities and other fraud. For some reason, they think that he might be in Mexico. He escaped somehow using the ladder truck, which was one of the assets left over after the family company liquidated the company jet, but the buyer didn't want the ladder truck. So they kept it and they drive ir around.

Yet Kevin Kline didn't look too bad (except, of course, when he's bedridden and dies). Does the rule still hold?

Quick question -- without thinking about it too much, who do you think this is? Hint: a TV actress.

I thought it was Angela from that show with Tony Danza -- what's her name . . . just remembered: Judith Light. I also wondered why the hell her picture would be in the paper.

Arrested Development. I remember reading about this series, that critics loved it but it can't find an audience. I now understand why -- its humor is manic and completely off-kilter. I only occasionally followed the plot, but still, I think I like it, which approval, the producers should understand, carries a high correlation with abrupt cancellation. If someone else watches this show and is willing to explain why the characters were in Mexico looking for their apparently dead father who fled in a ladder truck, let me know.
Arrested Development is truly a great show. The second season hasn't been as good as last season. Not even close so far. But it's still the best show on television.

As for the plot points, it looked like you missed the first episode this season. It doesn't really matter though.

It's SJP, right? She continues to be Ugly As Hell.

I'd been meaning to suggest that you move away from the cropped photograph and simply use the full image. I think most people would mainly agree that I'm correct when I say that we're willing to bear the expense of any additional bandwidth.
