She is a bit freakish, though still not bad for 43.

What do you think 43 looks like? You expect your wife to look like that in less than 15 years? Or will you have traded in for a younger model by then?

your mother wore a necklace to call attention to her cleavage and the point was to make her date think of buttocks.

I think Atticus is going to be offended.
Maybe you could put a tennis bracelet on the cartoon characgter with the cleavage?

Is that wretched lip liner or is it the scars from the lip implants? This is the most frightful looking woman I have ever seen. Who is it?

She's Jocelyn Wildenstein, socialite and plastic surgery victim.

Is there no way to make her look human? How many chin implants has she had? You could land a plane on her chin. How utterly terrifying. Does she think she looks good? Does anyone know why she hasn't sued the plastic surgeon who did that to her? Or was that what she wanted?

Because she's not bad; she's just drawn that way.
Oh, and paigow, did you see "Empire Falls" on HBO? What did you think? I like Ed Harris, but I don't think that he was a good choice -- Miles is supposed to be a bit of a schlub, and Ed is too cool and handsome for the role. I never would have thought of casting Dennis Farina as Walt, but he's got the perfect blend of aging cockiness.

Hah! I did not see it. I am sure they will rerun it one hundred times but I am still hoping to finish the book someday. I am a big Russo fan, but just cannot get past the part of the book where Miles is painting the church. The NYT did not like it, did you?
I understand it was shot on location in Maine. Was it Podunkesque?
And, lastly, thanks to Mario Cantone, I cannot read the words "Ed Harris" without a shrill queen in my head shrieking "Ed Harris? Ed Harris? Try Ed I have no Hairress".
