you are rather uninformed yet opinionated. back when I kept track of my arguments score I wish you were around.
the subject was Islamic immigrants, at least as implied. I have about 3 or 4 hundred thousand living around me. They are completely a part of the business and social community.
One hears not so much in France.

Same goes, more or less for the Hispanics in Texas.

About Sebby's message.
What they're saying at The Corner:
- The news that the three top Democrats have outraised the three top Republicans by a total of $15 million is very significant. It indicates that those inclined to give to Democrats are opening their wallets bigtime while Republican donors are profoundly wary. It's an indication of an intensity gap between committed Dems and committed Republicans. This can change — after all, these are only numbers for the first quarter of 2006. An exciting race on the GOP side could cause a lot of money to shake free in the fall and winter, when it will be most needed. But this is yet another data point to suggest there has been a GOP meltdown since 2004 and only a really vibrant GOP campaign leading to a very formidable and stimulating nominee can turn things around.

Yes, how silly of me to compare the black american experience to that of the immigrant populations in France. You are right, there are clearly no parallels.

Wait, you're comparing French immigration policy with 250 years of black American history?

I am comparing the experiences of two groups of people that have endured as officially sanctioned second class citizens.
eta: And all I am saying is that there are parallels, not that they are equivalent.

Annals of anti-Semitism.
I'm curious to hear Diane's thoughts on whether John McCain is an anti-Semite, given who he consorts with:
- According to Think Progress, Fred Malek, John McCain's new funding co-chair, was one of Richard Nixon's Jew-counters -- as in he, uh, counted Jews in the Bureau of Labor Statistics because Nixon though a cabal of them were doctoring the numbers -- and, when he was younger, got arrested for killing, skinning, and barbecuing a dog.
linky
Not to mention anti-dog.

An attack? No! He was inquiring after your welfare, and marvelling at your superhuman persistence.

Bravo, Hank.
As I was reminded of yesterday when looking at some old Nast anti-Irish cartoons to post for Sebby, many of the things that are being said about Muslims today were being said about Catholics a hundred or so years ago.
My personal favorite of the anti-Irish Nast cartoons:
