The most plausible explanation for a person not responding to you is that they are dead in a 5.6 earthquake widely reported to have caused no injuries and little damage. My deepest condolences on your loss.

AoN, I wish Thurgreed were dead in such a manner.

Dissent. I suspect they are half burried in rubble in their basement, with their Treo inches from their hands. No one is looking for them because of those reports of no damage. It will be a long, slow death for them, though they could be saved if someone would just stop posting and dial 9-1-1.

You're complaining about me responding to her in a response to her? If she hadn't already eaten it, this post would have taken the cake.

She just responded. The only thing that broke in her house was an Asian figurine.

She did indicate the following "It was scary, reminded me of the Loma Prieta ’89 earthquake which was 7.0!"

She provided this link as well.

I think Fenway would burn if management did that now.

I've been worrying all day about how Asian figurines survived the quake, particularly Asian figurines living in the home of a friend of patentparanyc's. Thanks for the update. Gwinky will be relieved. She loves Asian figurines (but they are NOT DECOR) in her home. Carry on.

Listen to them, they're dying, R2. Curse my metal body. I wasn't fast enough. It's all my fault. My poor master.

I am now happy that they no longer permit basements or crawl spaces in this area. And happy in the knowledge that because my house is bolted to a huge slab of concrete, that if it does go sliding down the hill, I will kill everyone and everything in my path.

That was the longest earthquake I've ever felt, and I was pretty close to it.

Ya'll will all be releived to hear that we in Houston are fine. It was touch and go there for awhile, but 1800 miles tends to dull the magnitude of a quake. Even a 5.6 quake.

I followed the link, and eagerly clicked on the viewer's "damage" photos, but I mostly just saw toiletries that got knocked over. That counts as damage? Damage to the free time of the person who has to pick them up? I did not even see any smashed figuries.

I clicked on the link and found out that Robert Goulet is dead? Why didn't you warn me?

I was so shocked by the horrific pictures of toppled hairspray, I noticed nothing else.

With some eyeliner I could have pulled off the Marc Bolan look.

Which reminds me, why the fuck won't Itunes sell any T.Rex other than that overrated "Electric Warrior" record? I also call bullshit on their not having a Slade catalog. Those old versions of "Cum on Feel the Noize" and "Mama We're All Crazee Now" are great.
