The problem is that the story is so grim and serious that there are no jokes. Part of the charm of the show is that the Scoobies can lead this somewhat normal life in between the death and destruction, and there was always this tongue-in-cheek humor surrounding everything. I can't think of a moment in the last 4 or 5 episides where it would have been approriate for Buffy to even smile, let alone kid around.
I'm still freaked out about Xander.

I think the problem is that there's not enough Anya lately. There's never been enough Anya. There's no such thing as too much Anya. Especially since I heard her on the Stern show talking about how much she likes anal. But maybe that was an act.

Well, he's got four whole episodes in which to look like the man in the Hathaway shirt. Then he's got to start worrying about getting a job, though Joss is pretty good about finding jobs for actors in his cancelled serieses, as I'm sure you've noted.

Porn in the Workplace
So I thought I has seen everything until I walked into a partner's office this evening to drop a research memo on his chair: on his computer screen, I found a rather large image of a pretty young lass, buck nekkid and pleasuring herself. Needless to say, I dropped the paper off and got the fuck out of there. She looked like she was having a good time, though...

I have found buffy not to be terribly engaging for some time now.
I watched Angel however for
SPOILERS
The episode when Willow visited and also when Faith was on. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. And I have been watching it since. I have very much enjoyed the whole Jasmine story line, it has been quite interesting. Makes me wish I had been watching it all along cause I don't quite understand all the dynamics.
For example the Giles like guy, is that Wesley? Had to cut the head off someone from the team who had died and clearly they had some past and the scene was very interesting as he relived it, but I don't know exactly what it was so it was confusing.
Buffy just hasn't been fun for quite, it seems to have lost its soul somehow.

It appears that the partner was saving the most interesting research for himself.
Once, at a former firm, a partner took a call when I was in his office and proceeded to book a stripper for a party he was having at his house that weekend. That partner and another partner also brought "escorts" to the firm's "prom" (yes, they actually called it the "prom") that year.
On a different note, I once asked a guy friend "Do you like porn?" He thought I asked if he liked corn and said "Well, I like creamed corn." I thought he said he liked creamed porn, NTTAWT. The whole conversation was like a weird Gary Larson comic.
AM(is "weird Gary Larson comic" redundant?)M

Ah, it's a tangled web they weave! For convoluted reasons, Wes had a falling out with Angel and co. and fell in with bad company, including Lyla. Lyla was an associate at Wolferman & Hart, a BIGLAW firm out to make the world evil and get rich in the process. Lyla and Wes started having sex and, despite each being callow and cruel, seem to have fallen in luf. When the devil came to blot out the sun, he also killed all the W&H staff but Wes helped Lyla escape and brought her to the Angel crowd for shelter and to allign against the common enemy. Then Cordelia iced her and blamed Angelus while Angel's soul was stored in a bottle. I think the flashback was when he realized it was Cordy being evil rather than Angelus.
I got addicted to Angel first and Buffy has really been pissing me off. Besides lacking soul (like Angelus), it's been reruns for practically the whole "season."

My new favorite show. The concept is great. Ashton Kucher (sp.)screws with celebrities, like Candid Camera. Best example yet is that they convinced Justin Timberlake that all of his possessions were being seized by the Tax Enforcement Agency to be sold to pay back taxes (they seized his dog too).

That was a great episode. The whole show and its execution are outstanding. Watching that Justin episode, I kept thinking, "why doesn't he call his lawyer instead of his mom?"
Of course I have questionable taste in television . . .

Both you and Manfred ended up on my crush list for quoting from that movie. A truly great moment in American filmmaking.

Ah ha! Thank you. Yeah they have had a lot of reruns. They seem to as long as I have been watching. I guess it is their way of extending the season.

that was very funny. on the same episode (I believe) was the one where they stole Frankie Munoz' car and had the guy who took it negotiate with Frankie for a free trip to Hawaii for him and his girlfriend.
anyone see RW/RR Battle of the Sexes this week? How lame was it that Emily left because her bf got kicked off? Also how lame was it for James to diss Shane in order to try to stay? Glad that Antoine thought so too... Mtv fucked up and showed the first half of the episode this week twice instead of airing hte second half. I finally caught the second half on Thurs night.

In an interesting twist, about two months ago, I was in the office one night at 11:00 (well actually I'm in the office at 11 at night every night, but the incident I am about to describe only happened on the one particular night), and thought I was alone. Upon checking my yahoo email account, I found the usual 20 or so porn spams, and being an enquiring chap, I was in the process of checking out the sites, with about 10 browser windows open, when a partner walked in my office. I quickly clicked on a document (he walked to the side of my desk so he could see my screen) and started talking. About a minute into the conversation I saw, out of the corner of my eye, a new screen pop up, no pun intended, and lo and behold it was graphic, in that XXXXX gonzo porn way. Without breaking eye contact and with the screen up for no more than 2 seconds (which was long enough, no pun intended), I clicked/kicked the reset button on my computer (under my desk) with my foot.
No one acknowledged that anything out of the ordinary had happened.
C'est la vie.....assumption of the risk and all that. My feeling is, if I'm going to be stuck in the office every night until midnight, I may as well get some perks, no pun intended.

wise beyond her years
One of the twins in The Real Cancun says:
"I'd rather be known for this instead of being smart or something. There's a million people who are smart. There's only 16 of us who were in Cancun together."
