You seem to have developed an odd typographical stutter. You might want to lay off the caffine for awhile.

As far as I'm concerned, slave's statement that you are a sock of the poster formerly known as penske is neither harrassment nor a surprise to anyone.

All I know is that there is someone out there who has over 100 socks. That accounts for 5% of our registered membership. Outing a few of that person's socks doesn't even get to the tip of the iceberg.

Adieu

In neither affirmation nor confirmation of the foregoing posts, I hereby do not admit or deny the ownership of the tradedress of any socks on this board or otherwise, other than to say that I may have been the sock f/k/a Penske.

For many reasons, not the least of which, was the defamatory and outable public admin post above, I am bidding you all faretheewell. I am contemplating my continued future cyberpresence, including but not limited to participation in certain other internet style lawyer chatting boards, and may also start a blog and sell tee shirts or coffee cups or some such shite. I will also be staging a encore comeback this summer and on a nationwide tour in support of the same, but that is for another board.

If you are interested, please contact me. I will pop in a little more to check PMs, and then I am joining my main man Paigow in that sock drawer in the skye.

And if you are on Yahoo IM and we don't already talk, let me know that too.

Buenas suerte y vista la playa!

SjL

ps: I look forward to meeting or seeing, as the case may be, those of you whom I look forward to meeting or seeing, as the case may be, at the unshaven ball. As for the rest of all of all y'all, I do not.

This would be sooo much sadder if not for the lucky break of cheese grits showing up last week. We don't have a gap where Penske was, we have a bulge where cheese grits has filled the Penske void and moved so far beyond.

People were sad when Havlcheck retired, then they saw Magic play, and realized Havlicheck neded to quit.

Holy crap. That is an astounding stock statistic. It makes me uneasy enough to think --- could I be a mere Penske sock and don't even know it? And are there other unawares out there?

Two unrelated observations:

I have not been following the board lately (to the delight of many here) so could someone explain whether NFH's avatar is running neckid through my apartment with a chain saw, or running neckid with a small dog covering his genitals ala The Jerk? More importantly, is it David Hasselhoff?

Mid winter blues have set in and I'd like to blow** some money on something frivolous. Have the FBetties in the house experimented with cosmetic procedure stuffs? Do tell. Objective: looking fresh, moist and yummy.

Diane

**No, I'm not blowing you.

Actual Fashion Question

Okay, this may be totally outable, but I live in Houston, and my gf lives in Austin. I am planning to move to Austin, but have not found suitable employment there yet. Nevertheless, I travel to Austin most weekends, and I am in Austin now.

We are attending some charity event, the Heart Ball (ball, heh) tomorrow night. I just found out that it is black tie. I did not bring a tux with me. I have a midnight blue Calvin Klein 3 button suit with me. I brought a red tie with a subtle pattern, thinking this would be Valentiney, but obviously it is not black.

Can I cure this by buying a more formal tie, like something silver or white (again, not black, but whatever) and monochromatic? Should I call the rental (gasp) places to see if they can do a same-day job? Should I stay at home and prepare for the Super Bowl? Are actual fashion questions discussed on this board?

A shockingly high number of valuable lawyer hours, plus the valuable time of a multi-orgasmic photoshopping jewess went into the creation and posting of that picture. Be flattered and let it go.

P.S. The multiorgasmic photoshopping jewess is a fucking genius. She should be a professional avatar designer, or at least she should start posting here when the computer is not being monopolized by her oafish companion. She has made me literally laugh out loud almost as often as cheese grits.

I have a midnight blue Calvin Klein 3 button suit with me. I brought a red tie with a subtle pattern, thinking this would be Valentiney, but obviously it is not black.

No on the suit. It's either a rental or my suggestion below:

Buy a tux. If you have one already (and it is somewhere else), buy one slightly different so you don't dupe the one you have already. In the morning, have your GF immediately start calling around for someone who can alter the tux to you tomorrow as soon as you find one. There are tailors who will do it same day. Or they may know someone else who can. Austin's Mexican American community has talented clothing makers and seamstresses. I'd try hitting some cleaners/tailors there. Have the GF calling all the dry cleaners.

Meanwhile, get thee to a place to buy a nice tux (and shoes), then take it immediately to get altered right away in time for the event. Shower and shave before you go shopping b/c you might find you don't have time left to do anything except go right to the event. If you can have the tailor come to your house, even better. I had a swishy event to go to last minute. I ran and bought a formal dress -- a short bolero jacket (whatever it was a while ago) with a dress underneath. I then rushed to the tailor I had lined up and had 1 hour until the event. When I whipped out the dress from the store bag and slipped it on, we realized with horror the security tag was still on - big and plastic and right at the waist. She altered right around it (it needed cinching at the waist) and then I walked around the whole evening with my clutch purse slapped over the security tag. So make sure that crap is off that puppy.

Good luck. Don't wear a blue suit to a black tie. You'll look like a schmuck.

I totally disagree with Diane Keaton. Wear whatever the fuck you want. It's a charity event, which means you paid money to go... hell, there's not even a bride there to get mad at you for "ruining her wedding".

I like the idea of upgrading the tie. Go to a swanky store and ask a salesman in the mens' furnishings department to make some suggestions for your situation.

And then, once dressed, walk in and own the suit. If you know what I mean.

Honestly, the man I took as my date to my brother's black-tie wedding did not wear a tux. What I remember most about what he wore that night was that he looked hot and I was sort of impressed that he had the guts to wear it.
