It has risks. People have died from complications from lipo. Was it worth it just so they could be cremated with a smaller ass?
I'm not saying every woman who has cosmetic plastic surgery is a self-hating misogynist. I am saying that it's no coincidence that 85% of the people getting it are still women.

As one of those woman seriously considering cosmetic surgery, I can tell you that it has very little to do with self-hatred or misogyny.
For me, there's something about my body I don't really like. I've always felt like that thing was just out of proportion and uncomfortable. As a result of that thing, I can't wear certain clothes, do certain activities, etc.
As a result, I'd like to change the thing. And I can. And I guess I will, not as an act of self-hatred, but as an act of self-love.
So, you see...cosmetic surgery is just really expensive masturbation!

What leagleaze meant is presumptuous
not presumptive
Unless you were predicting mmm would likely become an asshole one day, even tomorrow. Although I suppose the comments suggest it is likely mmmm already is an asshole.
Carry on.

May I suggest a breasticle day III in which anyone posts their body part they would most like to have changed, and the FB votes yay or nay?

Friendster (redux)
Since someone asked about it yesterday, and I woke up early this morning and didn't feel like doing anything serious, I finally created a profile on Friendster. I didn't have time to do much else, but with links to 2 friends who invited me to join, I am already Friendsters with more than 10,000 hip kids. I think it's going to take a while to digest all the koolness but will post again if I find anything interesting.

This, of course, returns us to an earlier theme of the day. Sheesh, Friggen (friggin?) Timmies.
And for those amongst us who are uncertain what I mean when I say friggen (friggin) timmies. What I mean is, God, I hate people who elevate form over substance.
But really, since hate is a strong word, I should say, I don't really mean I hate them. I mean I think it is kind of silly, on rare occasion amusing, but most often not. In this case, it was pretty amusing.
Ok?
Ok.

A penis. B 'n B has outed itself as a hermaphrodite. Or Jamie Lee Curtis.

Now, that's good lawyering--the kind of argument that knocks the opposition flat. Who the hell could object to that?

Man, sometimes I wish I had a penis. So I could wave it around and scare off the little people. Also so I could pee standing up at sporting events and concerts and bars where the restrooms are really gross.
But no. I don't have a penis. NTTAWWT.

See. Things like this expose you for the mean, nasty assclown you truly are beneath your kind, compasionate facade. No fattie is going to be happy with three sausages sitting on the back of his neck. There's no way a fattie could reach them.
Geez, get out more.

Would you buy an album by a person who never performed in their lives, met Mick Jagger, sang him a song and got hooked up with the right people and had an album released that was actually quite good?
The reason why I ask is because you've never heard of the guy and probably haven't heard him sing. If you're like Less and believe that his music has to suck because so many people (mostly teenagers) like him, that's one thing. But basing it on the fact that his big break came from a talent show and not some other random occurence seems strange.

Well, in anwer to your first question, yes. This would be much like going to a new restaurant based upon Charlie Trotter's recommendation. If a known master thinks well of something, you tend to give their opinion a bit or credence.
As for taking the word of the American people voting by phone or whatever. Well, let's just say that I firmly believe that Mencken was right when he said nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.
However, what I meant, and I thought it was fairly clear, was that I would never buy an album by somebody based upon the fact that he won on American Idol, or some other crap show. If I heard a cut on the radio, or in a record store, or someone whose taste I know is comparable to mine said "hey, you should check this guy out," then I might buy the disc. But it wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that he was on a tv show.
