Things that sucketh

Jesus, you are pathetic. Let me guess -- you went to law school because Mommy and Daddy insisted that you get a professional degree and you didn't want to be a doctor; you're a very smart guy but only a mediocre lawyer because you don't like it and don't want to put the work in to be really good; you had fantasies of a creative life (I'm guessing musician, or maybe short story writer) but never wanted to spend your evenings working on the craft that required and didn't have the raw genius to succeed without working on the craft; and you can't stand the lingering feeling that you've sold out even though you like the stuff that selling out has bought you.
Stop whining about it. Accept who you are and enjoy it, or go be something else. If you hate being a lawyer, or hate yourself because you're a lawyer, then do something else -- it's not that hard to save enough cash that you can quit and move on. Stop telling everyone else how they should live or raise their children, and put that energy into your own life.
Lawyers who bitch about being lawyers drive me up a fucking tree.

Dude, I didn't mention my job boredom. I was cranking on yuppies in general. But since you brought it up, I am pretty whiny about being bored. Been that way since I was a kid.
As to the substance, dude, you read me like a book. I've been phoning in everything in my life except having a good time since I was old enough to walk. Your post was actually damn revelatory. I knew these boards were goodn for something.
But I still sneer contmeptuously at your lifestyle and cannot understand how anyone with brains could find this tedious sort of work and utterly vapid existence most of you meander through tolerable. I stay bitter on this point because I'd rather be unhappy than kid myself.

I did not intend to offend you and I apologize. I am probably influenced by you. You are funny.
You need central air in December in Minnesota? You must have excellent insulation. Perhaps you could share the brand with the board.

You clearly don't hang out with a lot of women.
Saying that there are many many women who really like Dave Matthews is a big big big understatement.
Did you know that last year Dave Matthews had the third highest gross ticket revenues from touring (I forget if this was US or world). I attribute it to him singing in that stupid voice, looking thoughtful, writing lyrics that have just the right amount and level of imagery, and the black violin player.

This phrase is usually used to describe someone who assesses someone's character from interacting with them, not from reading words they write about themselves. What Sidd is doing really is reading you like a book, except that he hasn't bothered to print your posts and have them tastefully bound in leatherette with gold trim. At least he hadn't done this when last we met to discuss you.

Motherfucker! That last part came off as sarcastic or some other "-ic"-ending word that is not happy and positive. I suck.

The new term is "NASCAR Dad." This is apparently the voting bloc that everyone is after now -- see e.g. Bush meeting with Matt Kenseth, et al and having their stock cars parked on the White House lawn.
edit: No, I am not political nor is this post. It is clearly an excuse to say NASCAR in the off-season. At least we get to see the boys in tuxes on Friday.
