I think everyone was crystal clear that that isn't just on the internet, Pretty Lady. Your shift to Canadian punctuation may have something to do with it. ('Please, for the love of god, do not enter "fugly". ')
Perhaps soon everyone will call you Pretty Lady all the time. That could be fun . . .

I think this has been covered before but this is how people around me use punctuation in documents. It has therefore spilled over to my everyday punctuation because I lack the will to segregate work punctuation rules from leisure punctuation rules in my head. I'm sorry, dtb. I can only imagine how much this must disappoint you. If it makes you feel any better, I took out all references to "punctuating" before I posted this. In your honor.

That almost looks like a hand on the tush of a person bent over with her shirt pulled up. Or his shirt, I guess.

National Spelling Bee
starts tomorrow and is televised Thursday - http://www.spellingbee.com/ - but I will not be able to watch it until I get home. This is a plea and a warning to not spoil it for me. The same will apply when then World Series of Poker starts next month. Thanks in advance.

The ellipses leave open the possibility that this whole thing is a huge misunderstanding.
Dollars to donuts Donald Moffat will play him in the inevitable TV movie.

Summertime poll
What's your indication that summer is here?
Some friends of mine were talking about how it's not summer until they hear the Fresh Prince's Summertime on the radio.
I'm more likely to simply think of the Memorial Day holiday weekend as the start of summer, since it's quite possible that I'd been swealtering in the heat for several weeks previously. This year, my air conditioning has been on only since May 9, but we've already hit the 90s several times.
I'm more likely, though, to die of hypothermia than heat exhaustion. Air conitioning is set at sub-arctic levels around here right now.

Smells -- the first whiff of fragrant vines - honeysuckle, or the one on my neighbor's fence that I can't think of the name of right now. Honeysuckle is an esp. strong indicator for me because the house on the corner by my elementary school bus stop had a huge honeysuckle, and I will forever associate that smell with the feeling of freedom that starts in early June, with half days of school, field days, and the sight of papers flying out of school buses. (Similarly, the smell of crayons and Elmer's Glue transport me to fall at any time of year.)
Also, of course, the smell of burning Kingsford.
