 | I'm not whining that NY is so much harder or the commute that much longer. If I don't like it don't work in NY or something to that effect. I just like to whine. Many on this board do.

oh, Smartwater also has electrolytes, but I don't find that it is any more thirst-quenching than regular water.
 | Well, Ultima with lunch doesn't sounds very appealing.

Although I enjoy the La Croix flavored sparkling waters.

				Question for TM

If I could make that much money taking a leave of absence, I'd electrocute a dog, too.

The NFL should suspend his ass. I have sent emails to the NFL, Anheuser-Busch, Miller, Coors, and Gillette to that effect. That was easier than going all the way to Park Avenue in this difficult city to protest.

 | No Nike?

I've sent a letter of inquiry to the Texans asking about his former backup quarterback's involvment in dog fighting. No word yet.

 | Nike has at least suspended him in a way, though they haven't gone far enough, imo.

				Question for TM

I think he should plead out as soon as possible, pay a huge fine, agree to an extended probation period and be forced to do community service and voluntarily set up a foundation that educates about the evils of the dog-fighting and has facilities that help dogs abused in such a way. Then he could play.

If he waits and drags it out and mulls over options and tries to fight it, I don't think he'll have a choice. He'll be forced to take a loa.

 | No way they plea this out without significant jail time. Plus, he's going to be facing state charges as well. This is not going to go away quickly.

 | I had to turn off the NPR report on dog fighting this morning because it was so upsetting to me and my own dogs were within earshot of the broadcast. I've read the indictment, and frankly, I don't think I'm rational enough on the subject to be fair about what the NFL, the Falcons or the Justice Department should do to him.

He'd be slightly redeemed in my eyes if he'd just shot dogs that didn't perform well in the ring or when they were testing the puppies, but he and his buddies tortured them. If it were all business and done quickly and humanely, it'd be sick, but it'd be a little more understandable as purely business. But what they were doing was the sort of thing that people look for as signs of serial killers.

The Texans are playing Atlanta on September 30 in Atlanta. If he's playing, I hope Mario Williams causes him great, grave injury. I've never felt that vicious about a football player before, and I've hated a lot of football players.

 | Alice wants his nuts chopped off. She prefers dogs to humans by a huge margin. Humans are shit. Dogs pretty much kick ass.

I am posting quite a bit about Alice today.

 | If it ends up being Joey Harrington on the 30th, could you hold Williams back a bit? Joey's had a rough few years.

 | On the one hand, I agree with her.

On the other hand, I keep thinking about the Duke Lacrosse case and how very wrong the rush to judgment was.

I think he should take a leave of absence, just because his indictment will be a huge distraction for him and the team.

But if he is found guilty, I say smear him with peanut butter, put him in one of those dog fighting rings and let the dogs have at him.

Then, burn the whole place down.
