I am also surprised by RP's lustful feelings for Goldblum. I always picture him from that Woody Allen movie (Annie Hall?) at a Hollywood party where he's on the phone in the background looking for his "guru"(?) because he's forgotten his mantra.
YES! That part always cracks me up! (Well, that and the whole "you're what my Granny Hall would call 'a real Jew!'" line.)

Update on my courageous stand

You know, I think sellers on e-bay (along with everyone else in the world -- including legions of professional athletes) must read this board, because ever since taking my brave stand against non-feedback-giving sellers (who don't put up feedback when payment is received), all transactions I've been involved in have had sellers who put up feedback as soon as my money is in their hot little hands.

Behold, the power of the FB.
Yeh, well, not true here. Three out of five transactions in the last few days where I've paid and not yet gotten feedback - and in one of them I have a nice note from the seller reminding me to give them feedback.

Did you know you can buy boxes on ebay?

Not to worry -- I do tend to buy a lot of stuff, but usually small-ticket items. I buy things like onesies -- NWT only, of course -- for the baby, silver for my pattern -- because most of the guests at my wedding (eight years ago tomorrow, thankyouverymuch) were too cheap to give presents! (I know, I know, you don't invite people to your wedding for the presents -- but COME ON!!!), and fancy underwear (again, NWT only).

So, since my groundbreaking stand, I have purchased two onesies ($12), two pair of underwear ($9), a golf club for my husband ($21), a bridle ($29) and a juicer ($9). The juicer was an unusual purchase, but I had to replace our old one, because my husband scorched the cord with the stove burner while cooking. All sellers submitted feedback when they got the scratch.

I use one of those sniper sites, so I put bids in, and then forget about them. Sometimes, a bunch come in at once (like this weekend), and sometimes I go for a while with nothing.

However, I will admit to being perhaps a little overly attentive to what's for sale on e-bay.

My next target will be those wanker sellers who make their money on shipping costs. (They don't pay commission on the shipping costs -- so I had a seller charge me $8.50 for shipping something that cost $0.49 to send -- but don't you worry, I got $7 back from her -- that little swindler!)

Edited to add a missing word. Oops.

That's because you haven't taken the bold step of making a public stand against those weasels! My new policy (although I have yet to invoke it) is that anyone asking for feedback who hasn't given it to me will get a sternly worded note informing them that I post feedback only for those sellers who have given feedback when payment was received.

Today, ebay. Tomorrow.... THE WORLD!!!

Seriously though, do you notify them upfront? What do you do? I'm trying to take your courageous stand.

and a $20 bridle?

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

It's pretty horror-intensive. BRC, "Society" sounds right up your alley.

I tend to disagree with some, including "Hollywood Shuffle." I think history will ajudge that movie as having received exactly as much love as it deserved --- no more, no less.
Hmm. I was particularly happy to see Young Sherlock Holmes, The Money Pit, Beautiful Girls, and Top Secret! on there.

I'd definitely add Clue, Hackers and Real Genius to the list. I'm going to have to think about it a bit more to come up with more entries.

And who is this http://houston.craigslist.org/rnr/27615904.html? Fess up.

Remember my friend who had "issues" with a guy she was going out with (and his need for babytalk, I think it was, after "intimacy")?

Well, her mooching scumbag of an ex-husband posts the most RIDICULOUS stuff on ebay. We "monitor" his site and laugh at the stupid things he has for sale (in the manner of "Princess Diana commemorative plates" and similar). I forget his ID, but am going to call my friend now so I can spread the mirth to the FB.

Yeah. A "little kidding." One can only imagine what that means in the context of a hockey locker (oops -- dressing) room.
Back in the day in Philly, a "little kidding" meant 2 more concussions for Eric Lindos.

I don't notify them up front; only if they ask for feedback.

It was a $29 bridle! A nice one too -- Passier, brand new, but my imaginary-boyfriend-look-alike trainer (swoon -- how cliche -- to have a crush on one's riding instructor) made me feel self-conscious about it because he said it was too flashy. But what does he know?

My item that I was trying to sell was a juicer. I almost got $30 for it, if the potential buyer had not been a crackpot. I suppose if you got yours for $9, my starting bid of $20 was too high. No wonder it only attracted one bid - and that from a crackpot.

(Not really an AHA! moment, but it did pop into my mind as I read your post)
