Ah, shit.
Even at 21-3 I could kinda see that coming.

And I'm excited for two weeks of "Can Peyton Manning win the big one?" instead of "Can the Pats become a dynasty for the ages?". This is the biggest problem with the two-week layoff: too much airtime to fill with overplayed story lines.
BTW, does anyone else find it odd that the UPS ads feature a song by The Postal Service? Is it more or less odd than using a song that's been used in only 500 other ads/tv shows over the last couple of years?

brown sugar
My wife insists that a packet of the brown sugar at Starbuck's is not as sweet as a packet of the white sugar. This strikes me as odd. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Does she stir thoroughly? Turbinado sugar tends not to dissolve as readily, which could give the sense of less sweetening power.
P.S. Is the apostrophe ironic?

She's probably right (and a major sugar junkie). The brown sugar is, I think, unrefined or turbinado sugar. The white sugar is turbinado sugar which is further treated to remove nearly all the non-sucrose stuff and according to this link, 99.95% sucrose.

This is the brown sugar Bucks uses.

personally, I don't like it it doesn't dissolve properly in iced drinks. and like she said not as sweet.

Turbinado is a good name for a blog, or a band, or a sock, or something.
Post-coffee, the apostrophe would have been ironic. But I hadn't started drinking yet.
Seems like the stirring thing is it.

Even unrefined, it's 99% sucrose. Although Ty's wife no doubt has excellent taste, I can't imagine she can detect a 1% difference in sweetness.
As for dissolving, the only thing that seems to dissolve well in iced tea is sweet and lo. Or pure syrup, which seems to be available only in a few fine dining establishments.

Also, Starbucks offers "plain" or "classic" I think it is called syrup it is unflavored [read: not cinnamon or vanilla] syrup for iced drinks. You can asked for your iced coffee or tea sweetened.
