I don't know the brand -- if you're serious, I'll find out for you.
*His mother is also a die-hard, old-fashiond-method cook (and a good one at that!). We were staying at my in-laws vacation apartment, and the babysitter/housekeeper was looking for the coffee maker -- and when I showed her the "old sock" coffee drainer apparatus (that was all the rage 75 years ago...), she nearly fell over. She tried to hide her shock by saying, "Oh, that's the really ancient method" (bad translation -- it sounded less condescending in her native language).

Fugee -
If God were truly behind organized religion, he'd have never given us the simple powers of rational thought that expose it as manmade artifice of horseshit it is.
I could cite about 8000 contradictions in the bible and religious teachings which prove that religion is a flawed man-made Rube Goldberg system. Organized religion stands up to cross examination like Scott Peterson.
Faith = This shit doesn't stand up to a breeze of scrutiny. Faith's pretty clever - you reverse the traditional standatrd of proof - the less plausible, the more reason to believe.
Oh, and in closing... what do you do if you should fall in love with Muslim? Break it off because he's hell bound.
Its a fucking joke, and it ruins lives. They oughta ban the shit alltogether,

Did anyone see this shit where Clear Channle has fired its shock jocks and taken Stern off the air in 6 markets? I heard Eddide Vedder ripping on how dangerous Clear Channel is a while ago, but since he's nuts, I paid him no mind. I just did a search about how big the company is... its fucking scary how many radio stations they control. No wonder music on the radio is all the same ten songs. How are these guys ducking antitruct issues?

If your stove is electric, the saucepan doesn't even need to be nice (gas really needs a heavy pan though). But it should be nonstick, expecially if you like to eat before cleaning the pan. Non-nonstick pan + hour old rice = bad, bad things.
Also, the length of time for cooking does vary with the type of rice. In particular, Uncle Bens requires a little longer on the simmer (18-20), and Adolphus is 15 minutes right on the money.
We have a rice cooker that we don't use except to make mass quantities for parties (when the burners on the stove are otherwise occupied) because it's such a pain in the ass to clean. It's a regular cheap model, not the fuzzy logic. It does make good rice, but not better than wonk's (except when I couldn't figure out that Uncle Ben's takes longer to cook).
