And I don't know how much $25 means to you. ETA if you were an "I'm rich, bitches" person I would say definitely worth it.
For beginners, it's all mat classes. I'm not rich, but it seems that what I learn in mat classes I would be able to do at home for free. Then again I could do jumping jacks and sit ups for free but they bore me.

Core strength and quickness is really important in dragonboating, so I was hoping Pilates would help accelerate that training and motivaate me to get moving on a daily basis. I've grown very lazy this year.

Prescription versions are great--it's a huge insurance sucker play, since the prescription version is often a lot cheaper, esp. after insurance. Why? It's stupid and bizarre. But I insisted my doctor write me a scrip for an allergy drug that's about $3 for 100 pills rather than have me buy the OTC version that costs about $1/pill.
Nice. A discussion about favorite painkillers and ailments. The board ages.

no shit, so 4 200mgs mean you eat 4 coatings compared to 1 coating for an 800mg. believe me, i have the chemistry of drinking/exercising/aging down quite pat. eat motrin fringey, don't listen to them, none of these other socks care for you like i do.

My mother loves pilates to the point she's toying around with getting her certification to become an instructor. And she looks awesome. She spends a lot of money for an hour of private instruction twice a week. I don't know that translates to a class setting with a few more people in it.

Is the class using reformers or mats?

The pretzels and goldfish are for the toddlers who won't know better until they are 3.

They know better. It's for the parents standing behind them who smile at you, looking knowingly in that "we're both saving our kids from the cavity creeps" way.

But secretly, when they get a couple doors down, the snicker to themselves about the candyless witch back down the street.

I think if you take some good classes, you will get more out of an at-home pilates workout because they will kind of coach you on the exact movements and stuff. Again, you may already really know how the scooping thing works. I find it very effective now for just situps and stuff, but they really were strict on me doing it and I had someone staring at me all the time and telling me when I had forgotten and stopped scooping.

With any decent author, it goes without saying that the novel is always better than the movie.

Be quiet and drink your (organic, hormone-free) milk. When is your mom picking you up anyway?

In her Prius? with ethanol infused gas?

AoN, why is organic milk Organic Cow and Horizon much more expensive in a mainstream food store than say, Whole Foods? Is it the buy it in bulk thing?
