I find you not completely incoherent, just more trouble than it is worth to divine the point of/information in your posts (in part because what is often divined is objectionable on substance grounds). People might like you better if you didn't make yourself so hard to understand, though.
Again, will take that under consideration. clear. concise. posts.

okay.

People, people, people:

Why must I go to ESPN.com to find out that Joe Torre will be back as the Yankees' manager next year? I have come to rely on this board to give me the news I need to know, but you let me down.

Wouldn't this be better taken up by PM to NotFromHere?

But, to save you a trip, in better news, A-Rod not on trading block.

Stephen Colbert and the Ice Cream 3-way

with Steinem and Fonda. Very surreal show tonight, what with Fonda making out with Colbert and all, but funny.

Even more poignant is the plight of new members, full of promise, who finally take the plunge and register only to be driven away at the threshold for some unknown reason. I expected great things from you, Arab Mother Traders. Who knows if your promise will ever be fulfilled?

CLE Credit Available

In the interest of promoting understanding between the litigation types who populate this board and everyone else, let me share with you a commonly-used phrase whose definition might be somewhat counter-intuitive and perhaps confusing to others.

"Discrete assignment to last 2 weeks, maximum" when uttered, just for example, by an assigning partner in late July, means "non-stop emergency motion practice through October, expedited discovery and trial by February, while the client rides your back like a harpy and undercuts your efforts at every turn."

It is one of the beauties of our profession, which cares so much for language, that so much content can be packed into such a simple phrase.

I'm whiffing here, but new members aren't stupid and many are risk averse. They see how you all gleefully rip posters to shreds and many must flee saying no way man.

boy you're really getting to be a "glass is half-empty" guy. consider the bright side-

Who do you think will be the firm's go to guy on the next file requiring non-stop emergency motion practice, expedited discovery and trial, with a "hands-on" client?

Soccer, bringing the world together.

Glasgow Rangers have been drawn to play Maccabi Haifa in the UEFA Cup (an all-European competition one step below the Champions League). As far as I know the two teams have never met before.

But the Israelis have apparently gotten wind of the nature of the Rangers' support (bigoted, right-wing, violent) and have seen pictures of the Rangers' fans' famous "red hand salute," which they claim is derived from the flag of Ulster (pictures are in the work-safe link below). I would assume the Maccabi supporters are none too impressed.

My Hebrew is rusty. Is there anyone out there able to translate this article (or a free reliable web translator - okay, stop laughing)? The article should be entertaining. For me, at least. Which is all that matters. Thanks.

Edited to add another pic of the "red hand salute":

Back in the day Atticus was quite critical of me and we'd clash but there definitely is a void without him.
