All this football talk is fascinating, but can we get back to snack food discussion?

I just assembled a concoction of macadamia nuts and raisins (dumping some raisins in the macadamia nut jar and shaking vigorously) and the results are rather satisfying.

It's not Combos, but it'll do in a pinch.

what is the criteria for MVP. It would seem to me it should be the player who is the most important to his team, and where the team is great.

Miami w/o Shaq is an ordinary team. Last year and this year.

The Pistons had the best record in the East this year- the Pistons, a team w/o a superstar- then Chauncey goes out for 8 games. We go 2-6.

I suppose the Suns w/o Nash would be closer to ordinary, but I don't think they'd fall as much as the Heat and Pistons did.

C. Webb watch: 2-1 since the signing.

Papadums toasted in the toaster oven. Yummy. The kind with black pepper (but not tons of it), not the cumin ones.

Here's one I tried a few months ago: dark-chocolate-covered crystallized ginger (from Trader Joe's) and roasted almonds.

For me, though, nothing beats the snackitudity of Ruffles with Lipton's French Onion dip. If I'm not restrained I can eat a whole bag in a sitting.

Sorry. Just trying to help reach the goal of costing employers $800m.

Did you watch the Masterpiece Theater production of Jane Eyre? It was very well done.

No woman. Now hand me the remote. And go out and get me some Doritos Gold chips and some fiery salsa.

It will probably top that in Chicago alone.

Substitute Lays for Ruffles and you will get the food that I consumed during the football game yesterday!

It is hard to get away from football when you are discussing snack food.

I tend to be a little predictable when it comes to my picks for MVP. I think the guys who put up fantastic numbers and who carry their team offensively and aren't a liability defensively -- and who could do the same with any team -- deserve to win the award. To me, it's guys like Duncan, Wade, McGrady, Kobe, Dirk, Arenas, LeBron and 'Melo. The guys who have the ball when the game is on the line, the guys who everyone knows will have the ball and take the last shot to win it. The ones with all the pressure, who take it and still succeed. Those guys are MVPs to me.

I think Nash is a great player. But he has so much talent on that team to pass to. I don't think he should be MVP, but we've covered this.

I don't think Shaq should anymore either. He's an enormous presence and attracts defenses, making things easier for his teammates, but he's now bordering on immobile and doesn't try half the time.

I think he won't hurt the Pistons until it comes time for the playoffs and they have to play a quality team. Like I said, decent numbers in quarters 1-3 but gone in the 4th, no go-to move and never wants to take a big shot.

But the Pistons have bigger problems. Flip Saunders sucks. Let's go back to that conversation we had awhile back about the differences in playing styles after Brown left. They went from a hard-nosed, defensive, total team to a bunch of soft motherfuckers who wanted to push and score and talked about the freedom they had to really play after Brown left. Now, if they played in the West, they would have no shot of beating any good Western Conference team in the playoffs.

Is anyone else concerned about the impending avacado shortage?
