After seeing the prices on Ebay, one will look into this. Or else one is getting herself one hell of a diamond pendant.

remember, most of the prices are set in the last minute on ebay, and a lot of those rings probably have minimums.

Exactly. Or if not, just have it reset with some sapphires or rubies or some other stones as baguettes (is that right? or is that just a french loaf?) and make it a fabulous right-hand ring.

here are the rings where the bidding ends today

Sorry to hear there will be a soon to be ex. That said, if it is a nice enough ring, go to an auction house and see if they will sell it for you.

And so I don't have to post twice, thanks for the answer Bilmore and yes, I realize I have to work on my wardrobe.

If you go to the NY one, maybe TM can help.
The soon-to-be-ex knows a diamond dealer.

DVD Players

Not to change the subject of sexy/trashy clothing, but I was at the local pizza place the other night and saw a family having dinner. Man, woman and 2 kids. One of the kids had a portable DVD player at the table and was watching a movie. Has it come to this? We need DVD players everywhere? Kids can't talk to their parents? He looked to be about 5 or 6.

I don't go to the "kid friendly" places normally (Hi Fringey!) and so I'm not sure if this is common or not. Is it?

2.

All I can say is, perhaps the DVD thing was a "reward" for something or other. But maybe that's a stretch. I will say, they are magnificent for long plane trips.

Yes, but he was watching a movie. In a restaurant. While eating pizza. That isn't considered rude? Or antisocial? If you're just going to watch TV, why not just stay at home?

If nothing else, wouldn't you be afraid of getting pizza all over it? I mean it was at least a couple hundred dollars.
