You're so stupid that you couldn't see that I was calling you a race-baiting piece of shit again in that post. It doesn't work to respond to me with the same criticism. I was fucking with you because you're a race-baiting piece of shit. You see? Probably not. (It's called sarcasm.)

Maybe I should rethink my label for you.

Got it.

You're a stupid, race-baiting piece of shit.

Now, when you say "cats" here, do you mean men or do you mean actual cats?

I am not following this conversation at all, (except to note that you all suck and you're all wrong wrong wrong!!!), but this is bullshit (unless you are being sarcastic, which I don't think you are). There is zero, zip, nada bond with me and my mother. Our relationship is labored at best. We make a huge effort but she may as well be from the planet earth (I'm from the planet Zercon). My dad and I on the other hand, have always been exactly simpatico. We don't even have to talk and the other one gets it. He understands me better than anyone on earth (or Zercon). That's a special bond and that's the way it's always been.

If you click on that button, you will be taken to a screen where you can send a message that will go to me, reptile to reptile, and to no one else. It is a so-called Private Message. You can also access your PM in-box through the "User CP" button to the top of the screen.

Some people have set up their account so that they cannot receive PMs. These people are very silly, except Penske, who is an unappreciated genius. You can also select different ways to be notified of a new PM -- I recommend a separate pop-up window.
I think he was being sarcastic because SS and I have been secretly PMing all day about his birthday.

They do that right there at my kitchen table, openly and with pride. Screw that "behind our backs" idea.

Your entire life is one big parasympathetic discharge.

I agree (even though you just said "go there" in the previous sentence). And don't look now, but you just "went there" too.

Paigow - this post is officially nauseating me.
Good lord. The world? Let's leave aside western society for a second. Ever heard of the Taliban? Clitoridectomy? Good. Now shut the fuck up.

That post just screams of a woman who was sexually molested as a child and has repressed the memories. You are unconsciouly mad at your mother for not protecting you from your father's sexual advances, yet, since he was your first, you are unconciously romaticizing your relationship with him. Seek help quickly.

So true. Your mom was an overbearing, pushy you'll never amount to anything type? Hmm, who knew my mom had children in Canada?

No, I get it. You feel the need to defend yourself when you've taken something a little too personally. You forgot the first rule of any online forum: don't take anything personally. I don't take it personally when you predict a break-up date for me and the GF, do I? No, I enjoy the joke for what it is. Get over it and get over yourself. I can't believe you let me get to you.

Sebby understands, as do most FBers. The folks who reacted so negatively to him took his post as his verbatim thoughts. They weren't. He's not that angry and he's not that unhappy and he's not that lost. In fact, he seems a lot happier than most people here. He enjoys hyperbole. He knows his rants are funny.

Similarily, I think most people here know that my jokes are perpetuating-the-stereotype type jokes. I haven't perfected it like "The Simpsons", but I think most people get it. However, some, apparently, do not.

NO! No, nononononononono.

Obviously a different point than the one you were raising, BRC, and no offence intended to the Ladies of the FB, but it has been my observation that one lawyer per couple (either the man or the woman) is plenty, and perhaps too much, at that.

Though we often dress, speak, and look fabulous, and carry a party with our charms, typically, we lawyers are obsessive, idiosyncratic, not people persons, overly opinionated, etc. (oh, and apparently self-loathing.) From what I've seen and heard, mixing two of this kind is rarely a recipe for successful relationships.

But that's just me. I am, of course, willing to be persuaded otherwise through the vast anecdotal evidence culled from this board. Any takers?
Oh brother. My husband and I are both lawyers, and the vast majority of women lawyers I know are married to lawyers (I never really focused on that before, but hmmmmm.... that's interesting....)

This is one of those topics that can't really be good fodder, because it just depends on the personalities/experiences of the people involved. Nice try though. (I don't mean that to sound sarcastic, but I think it does -- please read out the sarcasm, as it is unintentional.)

I'll repost what I just said, "It often gets out of hand (yeah, I notice the glare I'm getting from all of you fuckers), but that's the price we pay for expressing our opinions."

I agree with you. It often goes on too long and goes too far. But you can't think it won't happen when discussing something controversial.
