That post just screams of a woman who was sexually molested as a child and has repressed the memories. You are unconsciouly mad at your mother for not protecting you from your father's sexual advances, yet, since he was your first, you are unconciously romaticizing your relationship with him. Sebby understands, as do most FBers. The folks who reacted so negatively to him took his post as his verbatim thoughts. They weren't. He's not that angry and he's not that unhappy and he's not that lost. In fact, he seems a lot happier than most people here. He enjoys hyperbole. He knows his rants are funny.

Similarily, I think most people here know that my jokes are perpetuating-the-stereotype type jokes. I haven't perfected it like "The Simpsons", but I think most people get it. However, some, apparently, do not.

Though we often dress, speak, and look fabulous, and carry a party with our charms, typically, we lawyers are obsessive, idiosyncratic, not people persons, overly opinionated, etc. (oh, and apparently self-loathing.) From what I've seen and heard, mixing two of this kind is rarely a recipe for successful relationships.

Oh brother. My husband and I are both lawyers, and the vast majority of women lawyers I know are married to lawyers (I never really focused on that before, but hmmmmm.... that's interesting....)

This is one of those topics that can't really be good fodder, because it just depends on the personalities/experiences of the people involved. Nice try though. (I don't mean that to sound sarcastic, but I think it does -- please read out the sarcasm, as it is unintentional.)
