It's cut out of the rated-R versions of the movie that Blockbuster and Hollywood Video rent. It's the reason non-rating, so some people may not have seen it.

That movie has over 2000 cuts. Aronofsy must have been in the editing room for years.

Don't push me. I'm right on the edge. Not including today, I've billed over 40 hours this week and have had little or no sleep. Was awakened (awoken?) yesterday to the lovely sound of a pile driver at 7 in the fucking morning. Don't push me. I'll snap. I' end up like that guy who sat on the Bay Bridge for 14 hours. Crazed with a gun.

And for my next random observation ...

As many NYers will know, the Manhattan on-ramp to the B'klyn Bridge is called the Ari Halberstam Memorial Ramp. Well, for several years I've wondered just who the fuck Ari Halberstam is and why he has a memorial ramp. The name rang no bells for me at all. Did he have lots of $$ but no taste in art, so his family did this instead of a museum? Was he a really famous civil engineer? Robert Moses flunky? Was he a ramp enthusiast? What gets you a "memorial ramp" in this city anyway, as opposed to a park or a couple blocks of a street? Who wants one?

Well, I finally bothered to google him, and guess what? There's a good explanation for why a B'klyn Bridge ramp is named for him -

http://www.arihalberstam.com/

[Nothing objectionable.]

He was the Lubavitcher kid murdered in a drive by shooting on the bridge shortly after (and pretty certainly in retaliation for) Baruch Goldstein's massacre of worshipers in the mosque in Hebron.

Anyhow, this question has niggled at me every time I've taken a car across the bridge, and just in case any of you wondered, too, there it is.

BR(this has been a typically useless public service announcement)C

Oh, and did anybody else get a surprisingly big grin on their faces last night during Angel thinking

spoiler, I guess

"cool, she killed all of them"?

Tough talk for a gay man. What do I care? I don't live in SF.

Not beautiful, even on the inside

People's 50 most beautiful is even more of a joke this days:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Movi....ap/index.html

A-Rod: not beautiful
Kwame: not beautiful
Jennie the softball babe: not beautiful
Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey: not beautiful

There's no denying these peopel are good looking, but not in the same world as Brad Pitt, Halle Berry etc. I think Nicole Kidman is a toss-up, possibly because we have the same large forehead (th exact same - it's uncanny), which I see as ugly. And Hugh Jackman is also a toss-up.

oh and Dale Earnhart - definitely not beautiful. He would make the 50 most weird-looking list, if there was one.

The Olsen twins?! They looked like frogs as babies. They looked like frogs as tots. They looked like frogs as just-into-their-teens. Now, they look like really well made up, really expensively dressed frogs. Color 'em green and I swear they look at home on a lily pad.

Someone end this horrid publicity machine!

Holy Shit! Whoever pointed out that the person in my avatar always gets voted off was right! This is a very serious power I've been given and I have to be careful to only use it for good and never for evil. So who's next? Jasmine? Diana? Fantasia? There are so many people who kind of annoy me but who I don't actually hate that it's hard to decide.

I will also be accepting bribes so if there's anyone in the competition that you REALLY want to see kicked off, and it's worth something to you (like a box of junior mints or maybe something involving miles of chocolate) then PM me!
It was me. Do not fuck with the power of the avatar. These powers must only be used for good.
