Exactly. He was the George Orwell of acting.

Hey, that's my sister, man. Watch it.

FWIW, she's anti-Ritalin -- except for one kid she had about four years ago, and one or two in her next door neighbor's class this past year.

Depends on the teacher. Some want to give it to any student doing below B+ work, some want to give it to any kid who goes to the bathroom more than twice a day.

Smith is already one of the kings of the Summer blockbusters. Who's bigger, really?

Smith is a far better actor than Cruise IMO. I still say his best part ever was 6 Degrees of Separation. That movie got panned a lot, but he was fucking incredible in it.
Smith is blander than Cruise, if that's even possible.

Love in Action

Sampling of the hygiene rules from the interestingly named Love in Action, a Memphis facility offering homosexual conversion therapy:

"Men: Men must remove all facial hair seven days weekly, and sideburns must not fall below the top of the ear (the top of the ear is defined as where the ear meets the face below the temple). Clean business-like haircuts must be worn at all times. Hair must be long enough to be pinched between two fingers.

Women: Women must shave legs and underarms at least twice weekly.

All: Only natural hair color is allowed. Hair that is colored, highlighted or streaked, must be dyed back to its original color, or the color must be cut out before entrance into the Refuge program."

http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=878912&page=1

We're in trouble when churches start dictating fashion to homosexuals.

I am not anti-psychiatry or psychotropic/antidpressive/mood balancing drugs for anyone except me, obviously there is a benefit to some people (and whatever works), but you couldn't pay me enough to get me to give my kids (that I know of) ritalin.

And I would sooner go to Tom Cruise for advice on ritalin for my kids than I would go to a teacher. No offence.

"You've Lost that Lovin' Feelin'" with Goose is better than "Switch".

It's sad that I'm not kidding. On a scale of 1 to 10, the former gets a -2, while the latter a -4.

It does, but just into other ethnic minorities.

When Vin Diesel first started acting, he refused to talk about his ethnicity because he was worried that he'd be pigeonholed into certain roles, but I think it's since come out that he's half black, half white.
I guess I'm part of the problem, then, because I would watch him in certain roles (like in Boiler Room for example) and wonder why they would cast a black (or half black, half white) guy as an Italian. I was confused as hell at first because he was part of the group that seemed to be racist, but he didn't mind and it just didn't work until it dawned on me that he was supposed to be Italian. I got over it, but then wondered whether he was trying to pass himself off as Italian because he seemed to choose those roles (Knockaround Guys or whatever that's called).

Whatever. I give the guy credit for naming himself "Vin Diesel" and getting everyone else to repeat it with a straight face. That takes balls.
