not other than RW/RR Challenge. as previously disclosed, one of my favorite shows...

my problem tonight is that I've been sticking to network tv when I obviously need to branch out to cable.

Sadly, it won't be long before Dunham retires. He's getting run over more than center lane roadkill.

Bill Walton Redux

I was just listening to the real deal after today's attempts to exaggerate his act. Turns out you cannot exaggerate him.

Best dickhead comment tonight: Lakers at Cleveland, Cleveland palyed last night (ie they're tired). 4th Quarter tie game.
the lakers at the free throw line-miss but get the board. Bill sharing his special insight

"I can't believe the Cleveland front line cannot do something as basic as boxing out. Doesn't anyone on cleveland care if they win this game?"
for the less basketball educated, most teams get 5-10 offensive rebounds a game. many o. rebounds require some defensive mistake but its not like they're unheard of. I'll bet the trailblazers and even UCLA gave up some offensive boards back in the gloried Walton era.
Plus, cleveland played on the road last night and traveled home for this game. The second night game is always a killer.

BW satires. Guess what? one cannot satire him

But off a free throw? Come on. This is the NBA, not high school. These guys should know how to box out.

She can't look any worse in a turtleneck than Kit Hoover does. I can't believe Kit Hoover either (a) doesn't read this board, or (b) does, but disregards my fashion advice.

I bet the publicist that invented the phrase "wardrobe malfunction" is receiving high fives over beers and cooterburgers and saying invented that."

Serial monogamists, rejoice!

Now, being abandoned (or abandoning) is another life event for which you can register for gifts.

Capturing the Friedmans

Anybody see this documentary about alleged child sex offenders on Long Island? I think the case was mid to late 80's. Anybody grow up there, and remember this case?
The movie was like nothing I'd ever seen. The case is sort of like the McMartin thing, but with home movies of the family reacting to what it's accused of.
The movie was neutral as to guilt/innocent, and scene to scene I switched on it.
As with all good movies, there is a life lesson- here, don't buy kiddie porn by mail.

Movie/TV review

So, saw an interesting little movie the other night: No Such Thing. Hal Hartley film with Sarah Polley about a monster in Iceland. (Really.) Odd little film, but quite charming. I liked the monster immensely (Robert Burke), which drank and cursed. Hal Hartley is starting to remind me of Jim Jarmusch. That's not a bad thing, but it is odd.

And on Angel -

Yea! They killed her! But why did they give her Lorne's writers (and lines)? I am sorry that it looks like Lindsay will be spending some time getting tortured by the sr. partners, though, instead of continuing to please me with his regular presence on the show. Nice change of pace that they just let it all be a mini-arc, rather than some over the top all-season fiasco of hystrionics. But I still want Lindsay back. But only without Eve, she sucks.
