I haven't been there in quite a while, but for years the Herald Square store was been in a class of its own. Flagship and all that.

It's worse. The Macy's I went to today was a Hecht's, and I don't remember the music blasting like that. Otherwise, it is at least a bit brighter and cleaner, and I did get excellent service there today.
I don't know how people can stand to work there. It's one thing to put up with Christmas music from Columbus Day on, but to be blasted out of your ears every day is intolerable.

The vibe I get from Ann Taylor is "I am a 2L inteviewing" followed immediately by "I am a summer associate. What's for lunch?"

And where do you shop, princessa? Is it on a gold encrusted ruby encrusted road leading to priceless silks? damn.

I shop anywhere. Including Ann Taylor, Talbots, Ann Taylor Loft, and various department stores -- not usually macy's because in both malls I shop at, bloomingdales is closest to where I enter the mall area. Standards are very low where I work. Mr. Man and ncs would be best qualified to comment whether I look like a 2L interviewing or whatever, though they rarely see me in work clothes.

Wonder Woman is getting serious consideration, though I probably would stop eating entirely between now and Halloween and the cape would end up being a lot longer than canon would allow. I wonder if a half-Diana half-Wonder Woman look would work.... )

I think you should go as Pam Grier (aka Foxy Brown). Now THERE'S a ratio.

I have never found anything that fit me in Ann Taylor. It's all baggy and loose. And cut fuller in the waist. Maybe it's an aberration just in the petite departments - which is the only place I can shop at either place. Or anywhere for that matter. But I gave up on Ann Taylor a long time ago. I found some cute khakis at least at Talbots Petite. That fit me like they were made for me.
