That is so strange that you should say that, because this morning, I looked at the date line on the newspaper, and when I saw that it was the 11th, I felt a creepy, little shudder.

Is this an appropriate point to note that the sky in LA is blue, yet again, or is that comment a no-go now?
(To be honest, though, I'd love to see some snow. It's been quite a long time. Perhaps we need to switch for a few days.)

Hey, Cal Grads
What is up with offering a major in Rhetoric? And why do so many people at Cal seem to major in that? Do other schools offer this? More importantly, was this Spanky's major??*
How far away is the day that a major US university offers a major in Spin (as opposed to Spinning, which must already be offered at Pansy Ass Cold Midwestern State U.)? Dean Karl Rove, anyone?
*note: I have no idea whether Spanky went to Cal or not or what his major was. That question was rhetorical. Ha.

Is this weirder to you than a major in Communications? Or English? Or Philosophy?

What do you think Gov't majors at Georgetown are?
And you can get a Masters in Spin at the Kennedy School.

Hey, Cal Grads
So an appropriate interview question for all these Cal Rhetoric grads that come interviewing at my office would be "Persuade me not to ding you based solely on the fact that you majored in Rhetoric in college"?

Based on the modern spin given to the term Rhetoric, yes.

So much for the Phillies' "future considerations" for that Abreu/Lidle trade.

There aren't many universities that offer Rhetoric as a major, though it used to be a classic area of study for any learned person, and when I say classic, I mean Romans and Greeks and shit. Rhetoric is the study of the art of persuasion and argument; though the term now is negatively associated with spin and bullshit, which are a means of persuasion, but a logical, well-presented argument is actually the goal of a true rhetorician.
I guess to answer your question, some of us can't do math, and Rhetoric sounds much better than English. Neener neener.

At your office? In front of you? Easy.
