I've never had the opportunity to address a written communication to her, so I've never used it. I'll just send the sympathy card when they return from Sarkoziliskistadianland. or not at all.

It is certainly not stupid, and especially not if it keeps you motivated. I was just saying that it is not necessary for most people so if it is intimidating for some people to figure it all out they don't have to worry because progress can be made without knowing precise figures and formulas.

I think by "stupid" I meant "unnecessary" but I'm not good with long words.

ETA but I really do appreciate that you are being supportive of everyone's efforts to get healthy exercise.

Don't they get pissed off when the pages stick together?

I know her and she used to work here, but is applying to come back in a different department; I assume my portion of the interview (lunch) is more of a schmoozefest than a strict interview, but I digress. Anyway, I was looking at her resume and she included "Liaised with outside counsel..." under one of her job descriptions. Question: Should I give her a hard time about this or just let it pass? Follow-up: WTF???
If her returning to the firm is a compelling value proposition that will allow it to leverage market synergies, then you should let it pass.

It would be insufferably rude to not send a condolence card to someone whose home you have been to.

Send it in her married name or call and ask for her chosen last name, but for God's sake, don't be a boor.

No. They appreciate the high-gloss shine the tables have after I leave.

Any other awesome Halloween spots to consider? Note that this particular group goes all out for costumes and tends to get a little crazy. I used to go to Vegas every year with some Buffy folk for Halloween, and there's definitely a cool vibe, especially if we go to the fetish ball.
Key West.

Isn't there an exception if the reason one doesn't send a condolence card is that anonymous internet acquaintances who are totally unknown to the bereaved give one a hard time about how to finesse a not-all-that-sticky question about the name?

If not, that's totally counterintuitive.

Yes, when i go to someone's house and stay for multiple days, I may pick up a New Yorker. Shoot me.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

You see, if I stay at a hotel for three days, when the time is over I probably know the name of the maid who cleaned my room. This woman provided you with a place to sleep, food to eat, New Yorkers to read, and I'm sure other comforts as well. Don't you think it's too late now to pretend to care? I hope you at least left a tip for her when you stayed.
