A lot of people don't know what they mean. Last year someone at work handed out cards with a triangle, rainbow coloured christmas tree. She didn't understand why I burst out laughing.

It took me four readings of this before I figured out WTF you were talking about.
Nice one.

Geez. All she wanted to say was Hope your Christmas is merry and gay, and you have to mock her like that.

I haven't heard the silver jewelry in particular, but I remember about the time I was coming out a lot of younger lesbians, say teens up through thirties, would wear a lot of silver rings. It was a pretty sure thing, at least around here, that a woman who did that was gay. Especially if she had one on her thumb. Within a year or two a lot of straight women began wearing a lot of rings so there went that clue.
Hey, I like mocking people. What can I say.

If it could take eighteen stitches, I'm sure she would agree.
ETA: Then again, I think of RP as the Mae West of the board, so I'm automatically thinking bawdy humor when I read her posts.

Yahoo has added an RSS module to the My Yahoo! page so you can have constantly updated news streams from news sources and blogs.
It's still in beta, but it is fully functional.

Cool, though it seems much less functional than a separate RSS feed aggregator like SharpReader.

Sad, but true...
I overheard a conversation in an elevator today involving a dude (a Chinese dude, for those of you keeping track...) proclaiming (and lamenting -- actually more Dennis-Miller-ranting) that you could go outside on the street and would have a hard time finding 3 people who could name 10 countries in Africa (while I understand the point he was making, that's probably not true, as you'd probably find several Africans that would be able to perform that feat... but I digress).
I thought to myself -- how stupid -- of course people could name 10 countries in Africa, but then I thought, "Hmmm, actually, he's probably right" (well, but for that "there's lots of Africans around here" loophole I so lawyerly discovered!)
Then again, you'd probably be hard-pressed to find 3 people who could name all 50 states, so I guess it's not really rant-worthy.

I'm working on that upgrade. So for now, it is set only for my areas of interest.

Only true because with our attention span most Americans would be bored by Arkansas. And, really, who isn't bored by Arkansas? Other than Paris Hilton.

Ergo, the Yahoo module is an improvement.

The original trivial pursuit game has a question card on countries in Africa -- it is always amazing to me how badly most people do on it.
So what is the largest country in Africa?

Canadian Girlfriends
Apparently, there are women on EBay auctioning themselves as "imaginary girlfriends" who will fulfill ldr girlfriend duties for a month.
It's so much easier than saying "my girlfriend lives in Canada."
