I may be underestimating the time, but not the yardage. I came across an old workout schedule recently when I was, um, moving.
At this point though, it'd take me 2.5 hours to do about 1000 yards. Well, okay, maybe 1500.

While I don't really miss that, I miss the giant appetizer, giant entree, giant desert meals at restaurants. And the Egg McMuffins.

What sucks is being in a place where you can eat 5000 calories a day just to maintain and then losing that 3 hours a day of training time. Its hard to eat normal portions, they look anemic. But then you gain 60 pounds.

Is there any risk of injury if you like stop swimming or swim too slow? Like the equivalent of falling off the treadmill?

I've used one once. No real risk of injury; you just get gently pushed back against the back wall. It's a little weird, though, and I didn't really like it because there are no turns (which break up the strokes for a moment and give those muscles a tiny rest, while exercising different ones).

But then I hard trouble pinning her down about wednesday. I told her that she seemed pretty aprehensive and if she didn't want to go we didn't have to but she said she wanted to go. It was hard to get her to talk. Although we talked for a while about other stuff. She asked me to tell her about myself so I did.
I told her that I was going to get reservations but she asked if I really had to do that. I said it would be a good idea and its not like you really have to show up. Finally she said that Wednesday is a long time away so she would call me back. She was insistent about calling me. Kind of sounded like a "don't call us we will call you".
This one is really hard to figure out. I guess we will just have to wait and see if she calls. I screwed up by letting the ball land in her court but I just kind of fell into the trap.

Sounds like you didn't play up the beemer and Palo ALto estate enough. Nobody is psyched to whore, I mean gold dig, and you probably would do better to piock a five star restaurant, servian food or not. Did you have your Beard and Mullet that night?
Maybe she is into Less?

I have standing bet of $200 that i can't do it.

Yeah, I've tried one. One of the guys on my swim team in HS had one. It was too slow for us (but that was in our primes). I think for a fitness swimmer, it would be just fine.
The pace of them back then was about :45 for a 50M swim.

How is 3-4K/hour overestimating? I'm slow as a tortoise in the water I could swim 3500-4K in a hard workout. They swimmers do 5K/hour. Balt sounds like a swimmer, no offence.

You'd be surprised how fast you pick it up again. When I started (after a 10 years hiatus) I was struggling to do 1000M in the 45 minutes. Now I'm up to 2000-2200 in 45 minutes.
I'm starting to get some speed back, too. We are swimming outdoor longcourse right now and today we did a sprint set. I was holding my 50s at 35-38 secs.

2.
Even a flip turn is a little break for your arms.
As for athletic benefits of swimming, when I was on my college swim team, I was absolutely emaciated. What is strange, though, is that I and one other girl were the only two on the whole team who were not instructed to lose weight. I didn't swim harder than anyone else, swam the same workouts, but almost all my teammates had to lose poundage. The other girl who didn't have to lose anything was instructed to gain a few pounds.

I don't think the FBonlys are really familiar with you, your persona, and your oeuvre. I believe the Spanky board broght you here. Why don;'t you tell us about yourself?? All I really seem to know is that you prefer the sex with the ladies over thirty and that you are a republican.

How funny, when I was in college, everyone told me that I was too perfect, and that I needed to be a little less perfect, and it was so hard to do, but eventually I figured out how and I became a crack addict. But even then, the other crack whores kept commenting on how perfect I was. So weird.
