Ah, yes, always a good idea to insult the interviewer and/or her colleagues during the interview process. I see that Rhetoric education was top notch.

I supposed I erred in reaching my intended audience. I had thought my audience was frustrated with her job and by extension, her co-workers, and so I tried to show that my hiring would help her somehow.

Next time, I guess I'd just say "My uncle owns a NY Giants-themed sportsbar downtown, my sister owns a liquor store nearby, and we all own a luxury condo in Vegas." But I thought you were Klassier than that.

Inexplicably, the snow has given way to a bright blue sunny sky, and the impression of 75 degrees. ????????????? This fact will not deter me from a visit to LA, however.

Rhetoric is the study of the art of persuasion and argument; though the term now is negatively associated with spin and bullshit, which are a means of persuasion, but a logical, well-presented argument is actually the goal of a true rhetorician.

I guess to answer your question, some of us can't do math, and Rhetoric sounds much better than English. Neener neener.
Translation: I majored in Rhetoric.

I was figuring it was a old-skool term for the "Advertising and Marketing" major.

then you'd have to get rid of the zero, because 90/11/01 doesn't mean anything. Although it almost works.

What is up with offering a major in Rhetoric? And why do so many people at Cal seem to major in that? Do other schools offer this? More importantly, was this Spanky's major??*

How far away is the day that a major US university offers a major in Spin (as opposed to Spinning, which must already be offered at Pansy Ass Cold Midwestern State U.)? Dean Karl Rove, anyone?

*note: I have no idea whether Spanky went to Cal or not or what his major was. That question was rhetorical. Ha.
I took Rhetoric 101 at Cal, instead of English or Creative Writing and find it much more useful to litigation. If I could sum it up in a couple words, it would be "know your audience" and tailor your argument to them.
