I don't know who Godsmack is, but they sound (by their name) really loud, and I've never liked loud. I like my volume loud, but not my music. Does that make sense?
I like Wilco, Willie & Waylon, the Dead, Ben Harper, some bluegrass and the Bay City Rollers.
Doesn't everyone our age know the words to every S&G tune?*

'The Biggest Loser' is for pussies
Feeling a little too festive? Robert Mugabe has a solution for you!
Quote:
Zimbabwe has come up with a bizarre proposal to solve the food crisis threatening half its population with starvation. It wants to bring in obese tourists from overseas so that they can shed pounds doing manual labour on land seized from white farmers. The so-called Obesity Tourism Strategy was reported last week in The Herald, a government organ whose contents are approved by President Robert Mugabe’s powerful information minister, Jonathan Moyo. Pointing out that more than 1.2 billion people worldwide are officially deemed to be overweight, the article exhorted Zimbabweans to “tap this potential”. “Tourists can provide labour for farms in the hope of shedding weight while enjoying the tourism experience,” it said, adding that Americans spent $6 billion a year on “useless” dieting aids. “Tour organisers may promote this programme internationally and bring in tourists, while agriculturalists can employ the tourists as free farm labour. The tourists can then top it all by flaunting their slim bodies on a sun-downer cruise on the Zambezi or surveying the majestic Great Zimbabwe ruins.”

The asterisk must be there to denote that you recognize that we are not the same age. Everyone MY age knows the words to every S&G tune. I figured your folks listened to The GoGos and Madonna when you were a youngster.

Sounds suspicious. Like Mugabe wants to eat them or something.

But check first to make sure the shelves can hold the weight. Unless you don't really want to be bothered with bottle openers.

We did. I think. I recall a great deal of Jacko.
I didn't mean we listened to it when it was popular. S&G is what we first listened to when we (as 8th or 9th graders) started to appreciate music for something besides a good beat.
S&G, Elton John, etc were like music training wheels. They opened the door.
ETA: I don't mean to insult Simon and/or Garfunkel et al. I'm jealous of the older generations for being able to hear this music originally.

Did you finish the damn painting yet, or have you given up?

I will finish the damn painting this weekend. You may not have noticed, but there was a national holiday last week.
I have an expensive corkscrew, and if I were going to buy enough wine to fill FLOOR-TO-CEILING cabinets that are deep enough have three bottles of wine end-to end, and probably three or four across, I would buy a fucking temperature-controlled wine cellar.
balti, you have been spending too much time with G3 or wanker or something. One-word answers, especially one word that describes a huge store with thousands of products, are so unhelpful as to be annoying. So, I beg of you, expand on your one-word answer a bit.

Prior to the pegging, did he squander his resistance for a pocket full of mumbles (such are promises)?
And I think that the cool kids like Coltrane are into Rammstein these days, but I agree that Godsmack sounds much better.
In fact, I just like the saying the name of that band out loud -- "Godsmack."
Whee!

I passed this ad today coming off the subway and it made me horny. I mentioned to a fellow poster that I thought that made me fucked up, but he reassured me that was not true:
What do you think? Does it make you horny, baby? Randy?

Man, you are fucked up.

I find it interesting that Kobe Bryant ($300) is being outbid by the Dixie Chicks ($350). And that Ringo Starr ($755) is being outbid by The Donald ($800). Too bad there's not an A-Rod stapler - I'm sure he'd take top dollar.

It was simply a reference to "One Night In Paris" and her penchant for being taken from behind.
