Actually, it is Rabat. A friend used to live there (now she lives in Bamako).

And no one said Togo (capital: Lome), that lovely finger-shaped country nestled between Ghana, Benin and Burkina Faso. The SFC lived there when he was a kid.

I think the expression is "band of merry men", not "merry band of men". This makes a huge difference in interpretation.
