Ty - Methinks the Gentleman Doth Protest Too Much. You are one of the biggest offender on the politics board of starting in with the name calling when someone else has won the argument. Then you claim they are doing exactly what you are doing.

It makes me uncomfortable when they wear low cut shirts, come into my office, and lean their bodies over while talking to me so it is all but impossible not to look down their shirts. It makes me even more uncomfortable when they begin to do it after they have become aware I am gay.

As it is inappropriate to be staring at any length at someone else, it is, to my mind, inappropriate to be shoving your breasts in my face. At least wait until we are on a first name basis.

And I do have a right to find something inappropriate, don't plan on changing my conservative self in that regard, thank you for the advice however.

I didn't realize that you were saying that they had some nefarious motivation behind their dress. I agree if they are doing it because they think you will be attracted to them and give them a better grade for it, that is different. And it is gross and inappropriate. I would be offended, too.

As I have posted here before, I keep my body to myself and my b/f. I don't dress provocatively in public. My point to everyone here is that there are women who do and they do it because they want male attention. Apparently, some of them do it to get female attention when they think it will get them better grades. Yuck!

I am sure that there are. That goes back to my point on there being different fashion mores. I don't think those students of yours who don't have the nefarious motivation even realize that they are making anyone uncomfortable. They have been fed a diet of MTV from the day they were born. I think they have been de-sensitized by seeing breasts and sexuality displayed overtly everywhere they look. It seems normal to them, not sexual.

I wasn't kidding when I said I have seen nice girls wearing sexy shirts at funerals. It was the daughter of the dead guy. She was 22 and a very sweet kid, and I bet she didn't realize that wearing that shirt would have been considered inappropriate by anyone there. It was a black low-cut shirt, and I am sure she picked it because she thought you are supposed to wear black to a funeral, and that was a black shirt she had in her closet. Perhaps if her mother had not been grieving the sudden loss of her spouse, her mother would have said something.

For the sake of expedience, I have taken to placing everyone on my Ignore List. Sadly, no one will notice nor care. But at least the pages load quicker that way.

Since the ignore feature does not notify the ignoree of the ignoring by the ignorer, we need an "I am ignoring you" emoticon. It should look like a younger sibling with her hands on her ears shouting "I am ignoring you I am ignoring you nananananana!"

Of course, unless you're lying when you say it, you'll only get to say it to the ignoree once.

With the exception of trolls like Gardener, who isn't entertaining and whose posts are so damn long it takes forever to scroll past them, I'll bet only 1 out of 5 people who say they will ignore someone actually do it. And even those who actually do it, will occassionally undo it when they see others responding to the posts.
